During the 07-08 season, I almost watched every game all the way to the Finals. But we lost.

During the 08-09 season, I watched every single game. Whether it was at home or at a restaurant. I watched it, and we got the trophy.

This season is different. I've missed games, but have tried watching some. And it seems the team is struggling like how I struggle just to get a game on TV lol.

Same here! It's freaking uncanny!

Say...how about we stop doing that?

My only superstition is to reach for the mute button every time Stu says what a player should have done AFTER a play is over instead of before it.

"Again...."
"How many times have I said..."

Superstitions are a myth. You really think that you tying your shoes wrong or turning on a TV will actually dictate whether the Lakers win or lose? Get real.

If superstition actually went under some heavy skepticism and scrutiny and is actually tested, it will crumble. It is a pseudoscience.

But when my dog upchucks before a game, Kobe will go big.

I wear a Laker cap with bill forward or backward. If they're doing well during the game, I keep it the way it is. If they're starting to go bad, I reverse it.

Yell as loud as possible no matter what is happening.

Dont sit down longer than 5 minutes.

Repeat the phase, "Take over the game Kobe" every time he touches the ball

Text friends about the "big time" plays

As you can tell, I dont like watching games with other people. This method works 70% of the time.... EVERYTIME.

Watching it with my girlfriend or dad are a surefire way to decrease chances of winning.

We went and saw them play live in Charlotte this year... that was a tell-all experience.

Best. Thread. Ever.

The only things I do are sometimes say "bonk" before an opposing player shoots a free throw, and repeat "counts if it goes it goes" when the Lakers are on offense.

Sofa seat location -- during all other TV viewing times the seat nearest the left side of the sofa is open to anyone - during Laker games that seat is MINE (no exceptions).

Oh, I forgot. I like to get stoned before laker games. So far, we have won every playoff game where I have been baked off my butt: game 1, game 2 (also on 4/20), and game 5. I was dry for game 3 and 4. I doubt it was a coincidence.

LOL, I just realized the irony in me forgetting that I like to smoke weed before games. lol, unintentional irony is the best.

I say "doink" when they shoot free throws to make them miss. I also avoid looking at the Lakers noses when they shoot freethrows to avoid a miss. that is insane but true! LMAO!

Hey OP this definately is the Best.Thread. Ever.

I have another in addition to my previous...

Only for HUGE playoff games, such as last nights I do not watch any pre-game Laker stuff on gameday. No sportscenter in the morning, during the day or early evening no espn.com no foxsports no latimes.com and worst of all no LG (this is tough). Then I do not start watching the game until both teams are at center court for the tip!

Glad to know I'm not the only wacko when it comes to this team!

This is my only one I have. But OH!...I hate it when the announcers, whether it's Stu or Joel mentioning on the air how a Laker player or the team in general has made 8 free throws in a row or such and Pau goes up and shoots and immediately they clank one.

I just want to go, "why did you go bring that up and jinx them?!"

Even when Chick did that I didn't like it.

Happens on the national broadcasts too.

I also like to go "brick" when other team shoots a free throw.

Bye.

Omfg on the money. Like when the thunder had no fastbreak points the dumb TNT anouncer brings it up then fisher gets it stolen by Westbrook amd dunks. STFU announcers.

I wear some form of lakers apparel every game. once we lose while wearing that, I do not to wear it on game days anymore and switch to the next thing.

Every time I go to a game I do not eat or drink except right before tip off.

Will not move from my seat/sit down if I'm standing when we are doing well, and will move if we get into a funk.

If I miss the beginning of the game and we are winning and start losing once I start watching, I will change the channel and check the status through my phone/computer because I feel like i disrupted the energy by turning the game on late.

Always gotta yell 'Kobe' when he's bein kobe.

Stand up with 3 fingers in the air whenever someone shoots a 3. If they miss I sit right back down, if made I yell whatever nickname I have for that player.

Never wear green!

Just got a Lakers mug for my Bday. Haven't busted it out til last night right before the game. Had a can of beer and was ready to pour at tip off but we started so well I never did for fear of it changing our play. From this day forward I will NEVER drink from that mug during a game and will only bring the cup out when it is a MUST WIN game. This mug will hold it's first beer sometime in mid june when we get our 16th!

I'm so glad everyone has these superstitions. Mines a little ridiculous lol. But if we score or I want us to play defense I have to clap 4 times. If we have a big basket or something important happens I have to clap 8 times. If I clap an odd amount of times, we're f^cked lmao. I know it's nuts but it started when we came back against Portland in the playoffs and I can't stop. Hell, I don't even notice it sometimes.
