| Portland being favored in the game makes me think the league and the refs are gonna favor the Blazers..in the game due to the Paul Allen news or its just people betting on the safer side considering the Blazers always have our way.. hopefully this all comes to nothing tomorrow and the team spanks the Blazers. |

Prediction: Loss
Record at this point: 0-1
LeBron James does not have a stellar record in his first game with a new team. His 2010-11 Miami Heat lost to the Boston Celtics in their opener. That was understandable, as the Celtics were coming off of an NBA Finals berth. But he also lost his first game with the 2014-15 Cleveland Cavaliers to the New York Knicks, a team that missed the playoffs the prior season and has not made it back since. Portland is a very difficult place to play. The Lakers will have a bullseye on their back. This is probably going to be a loss.

Opening game is a precursor. Where are we and how far do we have to go. This is the first REAL game for this years Lakers addition. Preseason was just that, preseason. This is step 1 to the prize. I'm going with SAS and looking to go to the conference final. OK, OK, I'm a homer.

@Portland has always been an anomaly, so I don't really see it as a precursor. We were winning championships and still losing up there in the regular season every year. |

You have to think that Portland will be juiced up to pay tribute to Allen. Lakers will have to match that energy.

Lol, he does seem to always play like a semi-star when he plays against us but looks very mediocre in other games.. but that’s like most of the role players in the NBA who like playing good against the Lakers. |

| I'm just hyped to finally have Laker basketball back. I can't see us winning this one though. Really tough place to play, Blazers are going to be inspired with their owners death. I just want it to be competitive, see some cool stuff from Bron playing full minutes/going 100%. |
