Yup, they'd have to put in language like: egregiously/blatantly missed calls.

I don't think that'd make much of a difference because that's subjective. What is blatant to one person is not to another; e.g., the non call for the PI that started this discussion. |

It was just a blown call, you would like to eliminate them but human error exists. I am probably the only Saints fan here and I have gotten over it. Things like that happen. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Thanks for proving my point because the Vikings kicker was 3 for 3 when he missed! |

Yeah, so I don't know how to implement it such a system. |

Concern around NFL that 4 officials in NFC Championship Game live in Southern California

Terrible weather for the Pro Bowl....we rarely have these cold rainy days in Orlando. I mean it rains every day in the summer for a few minutes, then the sun returns....but it is just nasty outside today after a beautiful week of weather. |

Referee Bill Vinovich, who led the game's officiating crew, lives in Newport Beach, California.
Down judge Patrick Turner, whose primary responsibility was to follow Lewis on the blown call from start to finish, lives in Lakewood, California, in Los Angeles County.
Side judge Gary Cavaletto, whose job was to initially watch outside receiver Dan Arnold before shifting his focus once the ball was thrown to Lewis, lives in Santa Barbara, California.
Back judge Todd Prukop, who was stationed in the end zone as an extra set of eyes on the controversial play, lives in Mission Viejo, California. |

My cable, including internet, went down around the time that the Super Bowl was starting. I didn't find out who won until this morning. It sounds like I didn't miss anything. |

Unless this was an act of God, that is so wrong of your service provider to not have staff and a plan to keep service up or restore it quickly during the biggest sporting event of the year.
Just curious since I work in this industry but can I ask who is your cable provider? _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Suddenlink. I’ve been quite satisfied with their service, actually. But if I had cared about the Super Bowl, I would have been pissed. |

I'm surprised people don't keep rabbit ears as a backup, especially in the era of cord cutting. |

Quote: | Charles Woodson out at ESPN
Charles Woodson is out at ESPN.
Woodson posted a video on Instagram saying goodbye to his former colleagues.
“I wanted to send a quick thank you today to the Worldwide Leader in Sports, ESPN,” Woodson said. “It’s been a wonderful three years, been a blast, I’ve learned a lot, had a lot of fun, gained some great friends.”
A report from Andrew Marchand of the New York Post suggests that Woodson’s departure could be the first step in a significant shakeup for ESPN’s Sunday morning NFL pregame show. It’s unclear who ESPN’s on-air team will be on Sunday mornings next year.
For his part, Woodson indicated that he expects to be working in television in some capacity in the 2019 season. The Michigan Heisman Trophy winner turned future Pro Football Hall of Famer should have other offers to work in broadcasting, either in college or pro football.
“I’ll see you next season somewhere,” Woodson said. “Stay tuned.” |

Saw this posted somewhere.
Quote: | Postseason record in games with a QB Rating <92:
Brady: 12-8
Manning: 8-11
Big Ben: 6-6
Rodgers: 1-5
Brees: 1-4
Specifically cherry picked 92 instead of 90 to give ARod two more losses (@ 91.5 and 91.6). |

I’m not a big fan of these stats but it’s still interesting to look at:
NFL Postseason Quarterback Win/Loss Records
Eli Manning, Joe Flacco and Russell Wilson look better on that list than Peyton, Rodgers and Brees. |

not a shocking decision. you would have to really REALLY love the game of baseball to turn down the immediate stardom/money from NFL. whether he deserves or not, that's for another discussion. |

I was a little surprised....isn't Chubb the clear feature back of the future for Cleveland, with Duke Johnson being more of a 3rd Down back? I would have expected Hunt to seek a team with a need for a feature back. |

I would of chose baseball. He already had a contract for millions with the A's, maybe not as much money as being frist round qb.
Baseball is much safer there no chance he will devlope cte as a pitcher, as a qb i think he will have at least a mild case of it and his body might be destroy after his career is done. |

Wouldn't he have to navigate the farm system? If he chose football he'd be in the league instantly. Making big bank. Also the changes the league is making to protect QB's allows he may be able to do a Tom Brady, play till he's 40. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

also just the lifestyle....in the NFL he will be staying at 5 Star Hotels traveling on charter flights, eating great food, etc. etc. In baseball for at least 2-4 years, he is traveling from one podunk town to another often on a "retired" charter bus if the team owns their own....or waiting at the curb like school kids going on a field trip waiting on the charter rental bus to show up.....staying in Days Inn's and Howard Johnson's, eating at the finest establishments in those towns....Applebee's if lucky, but more likely Taco Bell. |

True but in the NFL they will kick you to the curb faster if you don't perform. MLB's guaranteed contracts usually mean you have a longer career in that sport, even if the road to the majors is a grind. |
