1 less team to worry about making the playoffs. The clippers are maximizing their available cap space while getting some great assests at the expense of possibly making the PO this year.

The Clippers' FO isn't screwing around. But that's what happens when Jerry West is around...

not sure what the Clippers are doing. Tobias is the one guy you'd really want to keep with whatever star they "think" they can get.
Yes this clears cap space but do they really think stars are going to flock to the freaken Clippers just because Kawhi is there?
The 76ers overpaid for a 3 month rental on a player they could have just went after in the offseason but I like this because I think they become a huge threat of knocking the Celtics out of the playoffs which in return increases the chances of Kyrie throwing a tantrum and bailing out

Leonard ain't coming to the Clippers because of Tobias Harris. Clippers were playing way out of their league because of their fantastic chemistry but come playoff time they were first round fodder.Might as well maximize the lottery picks for the next couple of years and hope they get at least 50% of the picks right and they got a good foundation.

Just like what he did in Golden State when he got rid of Monta.

ridiculous... Clippers clean house while sitting on a playoff birth by trading their best player so that is somehow genius
let the Lakers do that and fans will be ready to crucify Magic

Magic didn’t even trade our best player, he let him walk for nothing.

I thought the Lakers should have traded him before he walked but I understand what the Lakers did there. They wanted to first see if they could sign a star in the offseason before cutting him loose. If nobody signed they would have kept Randle and let the young team improve to and become a more attractive destination the following year. And even with the Lebron signing I think the Lakers tried to bring Randle back on QO but the whole Randle butt hurt about not being the #1 priority and Mintz feud closed the door on that

Sixers are the team to beat in the East now.

Toronto with Marc Gasol added to the mix is my pick.

Might be true. Sixers pieces don't fit as easily.

It's going to be a very entertaining Eastern Conference playoffs. Raptors, Bucks and Sixers are very strong teams.

If/when Philly figures out their chemistry and rotations they'll be the best team in the east. They can attack you offensively in several different ways: Simmons in the open court, Embiid inside, Harris and Butler can go one on one late in the shot clock or in crunch time, and now they have a couple of dead eye 3 point shooters. Plus they have tons of length in their starting lineup, which gives them lots of defensive potential.

I'm starting to feel jealous of what they have.

Yes, nice to see for a change. I actually think any of those teams are good enough to put up a decent fight against the Warriors too. Especially the Sixers.

I honestly think at this point in his career Marc Gasol isnt a big upgrade over Jonas Valanciunas and probably less mobile

It's interesting to consider what the Clippers might steer towards in the off season after this deal, considering what they gave up in Tobias: versatility, fundamentals, overall lack of weakness. It's quite a sacrifice to send him away IMO.

From the Sixers perspective, what a steal. Tobias is a better addition than I thought possible for them this season for basically an injured guy. The addition (degree of complementary help, he's a start quality player) reminded me of the Lakers pulling in Rick Fox mid-career. Huge upgrade for them, one that sets aside near-term concern for immediate production from other mid-sized players such as Bolden, Simmons. This change moves them much closer to contending in second and third round playoff series.
