Would our 'young core' players do better in another market?
Not sure, but can't wait to find out... _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” |

The term “young core” is thrown around here too much imo.
A core is a group of players that you build around. The young guys we have are role players to said group of players that teams build around. |

Bingo. Nothing to do with market. We're a small time organization that has no idea what to do with young talent. It's embarrassing. Our management and coaching structure is like that of small market team from the 90s now. |

During the Kobe years with Shaq and Pau Gasol, winning was the #1 focus.
The culture, mindset and internal machinery for a strong player development program fell by the wayside years ago. |

I pretty much feel the Laker history is punctuated by player acquisitions rather than player development.
Aside from Fish, who really was a contributor to those teams who didn't arrive to this franchise a stud ? _________________ “These GOAT discussions are fun distractions while sitting around waiting for the pizza to be served.”

The Lakers' organization doesn't do them any favors in terms of their development, but most of it is just time. "This 22-year old is better than he was when he was here as a 20-year old." No (bleep).
Lonzo, Ingram, & even Kuzma are going to be better in a couple of years regardless of where they are. |

There is a lot of evidence of how players do going to different teams. There is no way to really predict it. We have our own examples on our squad...KCP, for example. He went from small market to big market, and even while here in LA, his year to year roles has changed a lot. Players like Kuzma and Tatum wouldn't necessarily have the same opportunities on other teams coming in as rookies. Teams and agents factor all this in their decisions. |

The market isn't the issue. |
