I know this is a thread meant for General Basketball Discussion but not many browse that forum so I thought I'd post it here to get a better response.

Who's your 6th MOTY

I went with Lou Williams. He's leading the Clippers in scoring 20.3 PPG and 5.3 APG coming off the bench. He's the reason the team many didn't think would make the playoffs are going to. I had Julius Randle and Spencer Dinwiddie in the mix. In my mind Lou made the bigger impact.

I don't know that intentionally posting in the wrong forum so your post will get more eyeballs is really how things are supposed to work.

I briefly considered moving this to the summer league thread as punishment (because it’s the wrong thread but hardly anyone goes there Jod, to save you the question)...

So if this was moved, how is it still in Off Topic?

I thought Derrick Rose would get some mention. He's turned his game clock back to the old Derrick Rose.

Side note: To all who commented on my posting in the wrong forum. I prefaced it in the OP.

He does but that's good coaching. If Rivers put him in the starting lineup it would probably hurt the chemistry. Whoever he replaced would most likely be upset.

Lou's played on 6 NBA teams. I don't know why the Lakers let him go.

Forgot, they traded him for Corey Brewer and a unprotected 1st round pick.

This is an award I don't care at all about. Seems like it generally does to a gunner, who plays starter's minutes, but just doesn't play the first 5 minutes of the game.

I don't think of Lou as a gunner. He leads the team in scoring and ast. He only takes 15 shots in 26 minutes.

You guys are crazy.

Only players I know who are averaging more shots per minute than him this season are Harden and George. There might be a few others, but not many.

If you Google "lou williams" gunner, 48,000 hits come up. He comes in and shoots. A lot. Always has.

Lou ranks #6 in the entire league in shots per minute. He also ranks 4th in FT's drawn per minutes played. The guy gets up a ton of shots.

Those are the facts. To me that translates into Gunner. If for reasons I I don't understand that term offend someone, just use the noun of your choice

Volume shooter by order of coach. Lou's doing his job. He's in the lineup to shoot. By basketball definition Kobe was a gunner and by that definition so is Lou Williams. However because of his ast I don't think of Lou as gunner.

I define a gunner as a player who shoots a lot for self aggrandizing not for team or by coaches orders.
