Anthony Davis left with a shoulder injury tonight and it was hanging by his side, the same shoulder that he had to have surgery on in 2016. Rich Paul is getting those medical records made up as we speak so Klutch can pull a Kawhi! The Pelicans are going to end up losing him in free agency for nothing in return. Karma is a (bleep)! Dell Demps should be banned from the NBA! |

(bleep) you, Demps! Good luck getting Ainge to part with Tatum now, and the Lakers offer just went down.
Edit: Demps just got fired! |

It really depends. I believe he will not sign an extension with any team that trades for him. If he only wants to play for the Lakers then Rich Paul and Magic will discuss it and it will be up to Magic if he wants to save space to get him in 2020. |
But here's the cost:
1. 1 more year of LBJ's post prime
2. not fielding the best team possible b/c of punt salaries; 2 years of LBJ's deal wasted
3. you have to trade/renounce BI b/c his cap hold eats AD's cap space.
That's pretty costly. |
Can't we go over the cap to retain BI if we sign AD into cap space first? |

Ingram's cap hold is pretty big. It might be bigger than the actual contract he ends up being offered. |

This is why I disagree with 90% of the entire boards forum. And hardly post here.
1) Pelicans land first overall for Zion. Celtics have no ammo even with there late lottery pick to get AD.
2) Lakers landed Fourth overall for a reason. This lottery was fixed. This lottery was to bring AD to Los Angeles. Also Knicks don’t have enough ammo to convince Pelicans to trade AD because outside of #3 overall they got no Ammo compared to other teams.
3) No other bidders can participate because AD clearly said he won’t resign besides Lakers land.
Overall conclusion? Lakers get AD this summer. And free cap space is for Kyrie. |

I agree with USCnLakers that our odds of getting AD have gone up after the events of last night. However, we can't say it's a done deal or anything close to that; I mean, even if we legitimately have the best offer, there's always the chance that the owner can simply squash it.
Also, the draft isn't rigged. I just don't know how you could go about rigging it, given how they do it now. |

1. The path to getting Davis starts with Kyrie. Lakers need to go hard after him and sign him.
2. The Celtics will NOT want to throw all their best young talent and draft picks at a guy who said he will NOT resign with them.
3. This will also show Davis and other FA's that this is a good place to be!
3. That leaves the Lakers to field the best deal to the Pelicans. I start with something like Kuz OR Ingram + Ball + the #4 pick and a future number one pick.
4. if the Pelicans don't want Ball, then ask them if the want the 6th pick(?), if they do, then I trade Ball to the Suns for #6, Ball is way better than any PG they will get at #6 and has stated he wants to play there.
5. Then I make a run at Cousins, he liked playing with Davis...
6. Fill in the roster the best they can..
PG: Irving
SG: Ingram, Hart
SF: LeBron
PF: Davis
C: Cousins
OR
PG: Irving
SG: Hart
SF: LeBron
PF: Kuz
C: Davis

|
|
Yep, I said it.
Randle would be a reliable 15/10 guy as a 3rd-5th option. We control if we have a chance at him, not NOP.
Randle's last year, he developed very good chemistry with Lonzo. I believe he'd develop similar chemistry with LeBron. 2 tanks coming at you in P&R? Sold.
Offer Randle 12M-15M/year for 4 years with a team option on the 4th.
Don't let NOP use us for leverage all summer long. It's not AD or Bust.
To be clear, I'm not saying Randle is better than or equal to AD. I just don't see the need to prostitute ourselves out for a 5% chance (at best) for AD.
If the rest of the summer works out well, we will get our future Franschise player in Free Agency anyway. No need to hold the door open for AD when we can get him next year if we want him that bad.
If AD is the player you want taking over for LeBron, makes no sense to acquiesce to NOP's high demands. Wait and get him on our terms.
If you want to build around LeBron right now, Free Agency makes more sense than this trade anyway. We can still trade the kids to a team in a trade that has a chance, not this pipe dream. _________________ Build around team players, not ISO players. |

Hmmm... so you are saying that...
Randle/BI/Kuz/Lonzo/Garland/Hart might be better than AD by himself? |

Sounds good, I like it.
Sign Randle, sign a max free agent this year then sign AD next year.
Let's do it!!! |

How can we sign Randle and a max free agent? If we can I’d be down with this instead of trading away anyone. |

By the way, AD is not coming to the Lakers via trade so we all need to move onto 2020 if AD wants to come via free agency for cheap since the Lakers won't have big cap space.
Ownership in NO has made it clear, they are not dealing with the Lakers.
So, let's move on from that. They are not going to deal AD to the Lakers.
Period. |

I’m not sure how you think this would work under the cap. |

I don't think we should move on from AD, we should still pursue it but it should not be a roadblock or hindrance to any other deals.
I would pursue Leonard\KD (most likely not coming) as the first options though. |

Highly doubt Jules or DLO would even consider the Lakers after they left the team on bad terms. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Let's give Randle a giant 2yr deal and then replace him with Giannis in 2021 lol: https://www.spotrac.com/nba/milwaukee-bucks/giannis-antetokounmpo-13328/ _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

You'd have to confirm in advance that Giannis had interest... but if he did... that's actually a good plan. |
