Am I an idiot (don't answer that) and is it common knowledge that you can disable the audio cue that sounds when you lock and unlock your car?

I had absolutely no idea that was possible and never have I heard anyone even mention it until this morning.

There have been many times when I have come home very late at night where I have left my car unlocked so as not to wake my wife by having the horn sound since the place I park my car is right under our bedroom window.

I'm curious as to how many people here have known this . . . more importantly I'd like to know why those of you who have known this didn't tell the rest of us!!!!!!

My lock is silent unless you hit the button twice.

I learned this the first time I bought a car. I read about features to see if there was anything I didn't know about - this was one of those things.

Same.

I didn’t know you could make any car silent but I had never given it much thought.

I didn’t even know every car had an arrow to tell you what side the gas tank is on until a few years ago

My car just quietly beeps when I lock it.

My newest car does the same on lock, but still has the horn on unlock.
