I will not be surprised if UCF is once again the best team in Florida. A decade ago, most people would not have believed UCF could be better than USF....much less UF, FSU and Miami.

I caught the Santa Barbara at Buena game Friday night, SB QB Deacon Hill has committed to Wisconsin. 6-4, 220 pounds and a rifle for an arm. The Junior QB is special, much better than other heralded local QBs like Ricky Towns and Jimmy Klausen.

Cincy gets the early lead on UCLA...this Cincy team is supposed to be one of the best non P5 teams this season.

I wonder whether the guy he beat out will transfer to West Virginia.

LOL....he can't, he is already a grad transfer from Harvard. Honestly, that young guy must be solid because the Harvard transfer was expected to get the job. He was like a 3 year starter at Harvard and Honorable Mention All Ivy League.

Clemson RB Travis Etienne with an early 90 yard TD. He was my preseason pick for Heisman.

UCLA's QB appears to be another drastically overrated recruit.

Cincinnati is owning him.

I'm glad you said that. I watched some of the game. The TV analyst seemed to be gushing about "DTR" on every play, even when he was missing open receivers. He seems like an athletic kid with raw passing skills and so-so judgment. I couldn't figure out why the analyst seemed so excited about him.

At least I can understand the Chip Kelly hype. He has actually accomplished something, even though it was a long time ago, and even though the team looked better under Jim Mora. This job will probably kill the last bit of his aura, but for the moment he still has a little bit left.

I don't expect UCLA to do much this year, seems like if they win more than last season its a success.

the truth is Cincinnati was favored to win that game because they are a better team....Cincinnati is expected to be better than a lot of P5 schools this year....and be up there with UCF and Memphis trying to get to a big bowl game. They very well may be better than WVU this year. Still, none of that matters.....if you are Chip Kelly with the UCLA brand behind you, nobody is going to find it acceptable to lose to a Group of Five team.

UCF called off the dogs after halftime.....they were not even trying to score....playing their 4th string QB (who still threw for a TD), and they still won 62-0.

Total Yards
UCF - 694
FAMU - 96

UCF goes to FAU next weekend, then come back home to play Stanford, then go to Pitt. If they are 4-0 at that point.....get ready for the noise.

That result wasn't a surprise. Truth is it will be hard for UCLA to go 6-6 this year.

I thought the QBR rating of Dorian Thompson-Robinson (5.9!) was a misprint.

This Dorian isn't Category 4. He's more of a squall.

not sure if you were aware, but I did read Army is supposed to be very good this year....one of the best non P5 teams, except they have no path to a major bowl not being in a conference.

Rice kept them off the scoreboard until under 9 minutes in the 2nd Quarter

I'm surprised we only lost by 10 when it was announced that star RB Joshua Kelley wasn't going to play. Maybe we would have won if we had him. Kid is pretty good. Even with Kelley, I wasn't expecting us to win this game, not on the road against a quality opponent.

Tied up 7-7 at the Half. This does not look like your fathers Rice....or your uncle's or even your older brothers....they basically do not look like Rice!

Chip's seat could get real hot real fast. I am not sure how good San Diego State is this year, but they were projected to compete for their division as usual. If UCLA loses at home to SDSU next week, the following week Oklahoma comes to town followed by a trip to Pullman to face a ranked Washington State team...then to Tucson to face an Arizona team that I think will be dangerous all year.
