The only thing that Marcellus Wiley has ever been right about is saying that Kershaw can't control himself to repeat his mechanics the same way in the postseason. He simply doesn't execute pitches, and this was the case even when he actually had great stuff. Maybe he's too amped up, but whatever it is, he simply can't execute under the pressure of postseason baseball like you would expect such a great regular season performer to do. His defenders have often pointed out that he has thrown some great games in the postseason. Well, yeah, I would freaking hope that a player of his talent would have some of those LOL. It's that the implosions are like nothing I've ever seen from, and I'll say it again, such a legendarily great regular season athlete, in any sport.
Yes, Roberts probably shouldn't have had him in the 8th inning. But back-to-back homers on back-to-back pitches? It's like a Shakespearean tragedy. |

U know who constantly produced for the Nationals this series?
Turner - .298
Soto - .282
Rendon - .319
Kendrick - .344
I know this team devalues batting avg in favor of ops, but somehow it doesn't translate to the playoffs.
We can't get hits and we're constantly striking out |
We’re probably going to go hard for Rendon this offseason now. |
you and every team that wants/needs a big bat.....he is the only real difference maker bat on the market, and he is going to get overpaid big time. |
Dodgers need to pay the penance for this playoff catastrophe. |
We don't need bats, we need a great set up man and closer. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

yeah, my assumption is your farm system is stocked well, and you will find more value in the trade market. |

I had the privilege to see Koufax pitch with my dad in the 60s & all these comparisons with Koufax are completely off the table. Kerhsaw isnt' even in the same universe with #32. Koufax as we all know excelled in the playoffs not implode. |

Do we really have to use Pollock and Kelly next season? What a bust last year’s free agency was for us. _________________ |

Dodgers still have 2 years of the Clayton Kershaw experience left....so....they aren't gonna be able to get rid of him. |

Dodgers are just not constructed well for the playoffs... We only have one Ace, a horrid bullpen & hitters that are not disciplined. |

I think that was already established years ago. _________________ |

Roberts Resume
2017:
Not pulling Kershaw after he got rocked for 4 runs in game 5
Not pulling Darvish after he looked REALLY shaky.
2018:
Yanking Hill too early game 4 through his lack of communication.
Batting Kike 3rd in the elimination game.
2019:
Keeping Kershaw in after he allowed a HR
Let Joe (bleep) Kelly lose the entire series.
Sprinkled between all this are horrendous lineups and bullpen moves. I'm probably missing a ton of other (bleep). _________________ Don't let perfect be the enemy of good |

Ryu and Buehler both pitched great in this series. Both were ace level. But I don’t see us paying Ryu what he’s gonna get on the open market. So I don’t expect him back next season. _________________ |

2 things you can count on for playoff Dodgers.
Roberts screwing with the bullpen.
Kershaw giving up multiple homeruns. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

If Dave Roberts were in the Red Sox organization he probably wouldn't have made it past year 1. |

It's even more simpler -- Kershaw can't pitch. |

It really sucks because he’s an all-time great and and by all accounts an incredible human being. He needs a sports psychologist on retainer. |

He's pulled a hot Maeda multiple times. Sometimes for a cold left hander who gets immediately lit up. Sometimes for a pinch hitter when we're tied late even though there isn't a runner in scoring position.
He's let Jansen's pitch count get high before too. Today he decided to go the other way. Even after Kelly walked the lead off hitter. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

I was so opposed to extending him after last year. Really hope we can unload him.

I know there's no salary cap in baseball. But you have to think we could be using that $31 mill a year better. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

I thought was clear 3 years ago, but it's more important we pretend he's still ace... at least until we fire this manager.
