Simply wow at how good the team defense is after 8 games.

The size of AD/McGee/Howard are un-matchable.

Only gave up 80?? In this era, that’s incredible.
Heat just scored over 120 last night

Yea not really worried as long they keep the opponents a point less than us. But I dont like they are exerting this much energy on defense early in the season.

Not in the playoffs, you gotta get stops.

You’ll never win if you don’t score any points though.

You need both.

But you gotta score too. Let’s say you hold a team to 15 each quarter, but can only score 13 yourself. You lose

The defense is why they look like a true contender right now. Most people thought we'd be terrible on that end in the offseason, and it was probably one of the reasons we weren't viewed as strongly being in the championship mix in Year 1 of Lebron/AD. I thought making the WCF would be a win. (bleep), at this point I'd be disappointed if we didn't win it all with how capable we look on defense and how much room we have to improve on offense.

This team has the offense. 99% of the league can't play defense like this team.

The heartening thing is that the defense has been suburb, and a lot of guys are shooting well below their career norms so there is a reasonable expectation that the offense will improve. I'd rather have it that way than the other way around.

Dwight Howard, AD, Lebron, Green, Bradley -- that's a group of guys who have made a lot of all-d teams and been winners and finalists for the DPOY, so there's no reason to think the defense won't hold up.

Well, there’s not NO reason. Age, injury history etc.
But so far they look incredible

It was very obvious that most of the Heat players were extremely nervous when shooting nearly anything inside the 3 point line because of our size and swarming defense. That was a beautiful defensive performance all around.

Players like KCP or Kuzma can wreck a championship.

I remember reading some threads about this before the season and it seem the prevalent taught the Lakers would just be solid defensively.

Part of the reason is people didn’t think LeBron would be a leader on defense and we unsure about Dwight.

Well neither were true.

My favorite botched TV analyst cliché: You don't win by trying to outscore the other team.

It would help if they would hit timely buckets like D Fish and obviously Horry has he was elite at big buckets while playing good D. Hopefully when the time comes they step it up!!!

The defense looks great, better than expected. Is that defensive effort affecting their ability to make shots? I know it's early but the three point shooting seemingly hasn't improved, statistically worse so far this year than last year, with more open looks going to what have been historically better shooters to no avail.

What’s scary is LeBron. Was saying on post game interview is that their offense has gotten going and that it will get going eventually.

So the Lakers are not at their full potential yet.

I still have to see how we match up against some of the other top contenders. Too early to tell but the team looks very promising.

I am glad you clarified three point shooting, which is a abysmal. Our overall FG% is the 2nd highest in the league.

Why does everyone keep saying this? Every team we have beaten has looked pretty good at the time they took the beating. The Heat were 6-2 when they got pasted. The Jazz is 6-3, the Spurs and Mavs have each only lost 3 games and were at home.
