Robin Lopez signed with Wizards if reports are correct.

Baynes and Gasol are best case but we should have no problem picking up a big from the following

WCS
Whiteside (pick up his value on a winning team/basically Dwight part 2)
Taj Gibson
Biyombo
D.Dedmon
Mahinmi

Money is drying up quick and most of those guys will go for the vet min

Another wing to consider is Kenrich Williams. Be nice to take a player from David Griffin.

Clippers can suck it.

he would be worth a roster spot...he is the kind of guy that will not really hurt you if he has to play...

it says a lot about this class that Ibaka was one of the best available guys on the market and was still a player that needed to be sat in a high-stakes playoff matchup lol

I for one was happy Clips signed Ibaka. Clippers fans are pretending like he was their first choice rather than salvage move.

Let’s sign a center and another pg and then lets whoop on them in the playoffs so they remember it.

Heh. I’ve got some thoughts on all this but need to see where the Clippers go with the PG spot. I kind of think we knee-capped them with Harrell being an asset they could move to solve that issue while they tried to sneak in Ibaka. But they could still pull off something. We’ll see.

Yeah, it seemed like they were really counting on at least getting something back through a s&t with Trezz. Clipper fans had like 10+ trade scenarios lined up at different places I seen

I agree though, we got to wait a bit longer because it still seems like it's been way to quiet over there. On the bright side, there "trade chips" are pretty haggard and bottom of the barrel at least.

I'm really looking forward to watching Lou guard Schroder though.

Wes Matthews tore his Achilles five and a half years ago and everyone was excited to sign him... yet signing Boogie who is much younger, is out of the question?

I get that Boogie had a series of injuries but he was never a high flyer or fast moving center.

Why do people believe that it's impossible for him to be an effective player again? Will he be the best center in the league again? Probably not... but he can shoot and pass and block shots without jumping.

At a minimum contract it's a no brainer for me.

just curious, why does it seem most of you are high on Gasol than Cousins? Even if Cousins is only what he was when he played for the Warriors, that is more than Gasol can offer on the court at his age....and if Cousins can get to even 80% of what he once was in short to moderate minutes....that is night and day better than Gasol in 2020. Again, just curious, have not been around much recently and am surprised at the shift towards Gasol.

Also, don't we need another legit emergency PG on the roster? Someone like Jeff Teague would have been acceptable, but I saw the Celtics picked him up today.

From my perspective it is the weight that concerns me. The constant pounding on his legs carrying that weight increases the odds for injury.

If he stays injury free I have no doubt he will be an effective player.

If Boogie is down to give it another go here, then he's who we should sign.

The Lakers KNOW they need a big center. It has been way to quiet already 30 hours in for us not being linked to a decent center. For that reason I have to think our FO expects to get Dedmon once his buyout is complete and possibly Batum. Then wrap it up with Cousins since they know they have three guys that can man the center and let him rest for basically half the season and then work his way into playoff shape.

Sucks that dwight left. Could've really used his energy/rebounding and defense against Ibaka. We really need to pick up a serviceable center

I think the reason is because with Gasol we know exactly what we are getting... and it is a match for most of our needs at that position. With Cousins we have a huge unknown of how well he will recover from the multiple injuries and long layoff. We don’t even know when he’ll be able to play again at all. However, the upside with Cousins is huge if he does recover so I’d like to sign him just for that reason (along with Gasol or Whiteside).
