Do you feel Center's with his style of play would fit next to AD? I like big strong C's but I wonder if C's like Bassey who provides better spacing on the court is the better complement.

Just putting him on the radar because I think he can play, even if he's just a slightly more fluid Gorgui Dieng out there.

Franz Wagner - nice all around player but did not see a standout skill. Probably best suited at PF but will need to add strength and bulk. Would draft in the 20's.

Defense. He's a wing with PF movement.

That's it. I could not describe his play. He doesn't look as nimble as Avdija. I think in the long term he is a PF.

St. Marys vs. Gonzaga only watched the 1st half as it was a blow out.

With such a disparity of talent between teams it is hard to judge the Gonzaga players. Just some observations.

Kispert shoots a low arcing shot. Does he need to increase the arc at the longer NBA distance? A nice straight line athlete.

Timme - will get muscled in the NBA early in his career. However got bball talent. Would like to see if he has a perimeter game as he did all his work inside against an outmanned St. Mary's.

Ayayi - nice role player who can do everything fairly well. Also need to see him against a more athletic team.

Suggs - didn't have to do much this game although he was engaged on both ends. Liked that he played within the team framework even though he wasn't getting his on offense.

Nembhard - not sure what to make of his talent. Seemed similar to Ayayi.

Arizona vs. USC

Arizona's height and length matched up well with USC and was able to neutralize the advantage USC normally has with their bigs.

Evan Mobley - Great talent and so composed. Would like to see how dynamic he will be with his handles with more spacing in the NBA. If he had more quick twitch he would be close to unstoppable offensively and superstar worthy.

Azuolas Tubelis - nothing dynamic in his game but just a good bball player. HIs size and strength was a problem for USC's bigs. HIs wingspan is average. Could be Sabonis 2.0.

James Akinjo = excellent handles, quickness and change of direction. No one on USC could stop him from getting to where he wanted to go. Drove the lane relentlessly. Shooting stroke looks okay.

Not a fan of Petrusev.

Duarte is solid. Physically reminds me of Doug Christie. I like he plays within the team making that extra pass.

Most of DT already have Cade #1 and Mobley #2. Top 4 has been sealed with Suggs and Kuminga.

Any particular reason why you're not a fan? Did well at Monteverde w young Cade, Gonzaga, now one of the top tier European leagues?

Giddey has me giddy along with Prkačin, Petrusev, and Hukporti. Nothing wrong with a little draft n' stash for the future.

I read a tweet that Giddey's stocks are going up defensively which is a big deal, but in what little I've watched, I haven't seen him take a shot beyond 10'.

Prkacin stands out to me as a guy more NBA ready, but I'm guessing it goes mid 1st round.

Legit don't understand any hype about Terrance Shannon Jr.

At Gonzaga I remember he was primarily a post player who won on court with size and strength. I do not believe this would translate to the NBA. I realize the college game suppresses the talents of centers so maybe he has the perimeter and ball handling skills to succeed but I just don't feel he is a 1st round talent.

Based on skill and also stereotype I am a fan of Rokas Jokubaitis. That crafty left handed combo guard. Yes I am a fan of Dragic.

Just a little rant.

I miss the older play style where the game for me was more entertaining than it is today,

The killer crossovers of Iverson, Hardaway. I still remember Iverson crossing MJ out of sorts.

Never saw anyone spin quicker in the paint than Worthy.

How Bernard King was just unstoppable in the paint at 6'5".

The high flying act of MJ, Dominique, Dr. J.

True PG's like Magic, Stockton, Kidd. Just would marvel at their passing skills.

Now it is who can shoot the 3. Drive kick out for 3. It's becoming a commodity.

How many of the above players would have been marginalized being unable to shoot the 3?

I decided to post this as I realized I am watching less NBA games it seems each year.

Back to the draft.

^blame the increased athleticism in general from role players to superstars, enhanced by defensive ability and schemes.

Seems low for Scottie Barnes.

Do you believe Bones Hyland, Tre Mann or David Duke can play PG? David Johnson not listed but same question.

If his shooting continues Bones Hyland could be a Clarkson type 6th man. Able to dribble himself open.

Scottie can't shoot.

I believe Bones can, less sure about Mann and Duke. But they all have different weaknesses. I mean, Bones Hyland is 165lbs. Not a good sign, and I'm unclear if his frame can add requisite strength.

I've seen Giddey hit a couple just on highlight reels, but I've settled in on the idea of him as post-injury Shaun Livingston and hope he can become a reliable shooter from 15-18 feet one day.

Back to the draft.

Man, those AI Philly teams were a slog to watch. Matt Geiger and Eric Snow just mugging people to keep the score down hoping Iverson could put up enough points on 40% shooting to eke out an 80-77 win.

Giddey is a tough watch for me, because even if I like jumbo initiators, I need something else to separate them from the rest. Giddey seems like a reluctant shooter which kills gravity, then doesn't have the outright athl to compensate.

I still remember Livingston having that athleticism and better handle to get to the paint at will before the injuries hit.
