Quote: | Anthony Davis has been cleared for full on court activity, and can begin his ramp up to return to play, per Vogel. Unlikely Davis plays in either Utah game but not “out of the question.” Definitely good news for the Lakers. |
Quote: | Vogel said that Davis would likely play in “short bursts” — around the 15-minute range — when he returns. |

Quote: | Vogel said it’s unlikely, but not out of the question, that Davis could return to play against Utah (games on Saturday and Monday).
Vogel said he’ll be on a minutes restriction when he returns, likely around 15 minutes or so, as they ramp him up. |

He looked good in pre-game workout.
They need him against Dallas for sure. If he can go against Utah, might as well play him in the Monday game to get a split unless the Lakers pull off the upset tomorrow. |

I think people have forgotten how good he is.
But also, to be frank, his numbers with LBJ off the court (+/- wise) aren't as spectacular as it is when LBJ plays with him. But he will be a MASSIVE boost as a primary scorer and defender when he's back. So excited and hope he can stay healthy. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

While i am excited for AD's return, i would hold him out until the Mavs games. If we play him against the Jazz, he will be tempted to surpass his minutes restriction. Just sit him against the Jazz, and let him play 15-20 minutes each Mavs game to work himself back in with little pressure to overexert himself. Would also bench him in the 4th of each of those games if possible to prevent some random injury because players like Gobert and Porzingis are awkward/stupid and clumsy af. |

Imagine watching someone, in a Laker uni, actually hit a midrange shot.
Going to be a beautiful thing. |

Granted it's a limited sample size, but still in the 23 games he played, shot way below his career ave. And why bring Lebron into this lol |

This is where I am.
Likely, with AD and no LeBron, the Utah games are L's anyway. |

I can only hope that it was due to his injury. Really, I'm hoping that his first month+ was due to the injury. If not, yikes. |

I heard Utah is resting the main guys and Mitchell is hurt. We can win today. _________________ Previously LBJ23 |

I would hold Davis for the Dallas game. That is Thursday plenty of time to get him ready. Helps that they won yesterday so splitting with UT was probably the best they could hope for. Now they won the first one, give AD a few more days and you should be good. |

Yep, but Schroder has a nice midrange shot. I've began calling "money" when he shoots it because it became evident to me very early that he has a nice midrange jumper.
Next in line is our budding young star THT. He's learning that midrange game too, and I am extremely confident that he'll almost master it.
Players of recent generations have been coached to build their games around the 3pt shot. But, for some, it will take time for that, if it ever comes at all. In the meantime they should work on, and master, what they can. |

Stressful as a fan to watch AD play as most games he goes down with what looks like a season ending injury based on his reaction. Thankfully the injury wasn’t worse for him. You don’t want him to return if he’s not ready yet and get hurt again. (bleep) injuries this season. _________________ "We are the goodest." - Shaq ESPN interview |

Silver didn't do the players or the fans any favors with this schedule or protocols. 2 studies written about on ESPN now showing testing athletes is unnecessary. Even a rolling week off for a couple teams each week could have been helpful. Money money money...important but there's more to life than profit margins and advertising partners. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

Pete’s got a good point in their latest pod about AD. He essentially said that the next few weeks where AD will play without lebron is going to be interesting as this will build chemistry for the non-lebron lineups. Very critical come the playoffs.
I totally agree. Very interesting to see how AD will lead this team without bron. Could not only foreshadow this coming playoffs, but also post-lebron lakers. |

Yes, it will be interesting. I would lie if I said that I'm confident on AD leading the team without LeBron. |

It’ll be totally different from how lebron does it. I think it’s gonna take a while for fans to get used to it. AD will not be the main decision maker on offense, that will still be DS. But im sure AD will be able to impose his will all the same. |

Well because if I was going to want someone to improve their free throws on the team, Lebron would be the first one on my list. He shoots more and historically is much worse. This year is an anomaly for Davis. Its probably nothing to worry about. |
