Agreed. They are a big-time implosion waiting to happen.

Also agree. They are going to fall hard but boy has it been impressive with what they have been doing. Absolutely thumping teams with a bunch of scrubs. Any time Curt Casals is hitting 2 run bombs to CF at AT&T park you know you’re running good.

Boston is playing over their heads too. Who knows maybe Alex Cora is cheating. He's known for that kind of thing.

The schedule is promising, but the biggest fault in looking at SoS is that there are too many variables (especially in a long season and sport like baseball) where you would be able to take it as fact that SF will "lose" and the Dodgers will "win" those future games. It could be that the past games SF won were against "bad" teams battling injuries and will be healthy when they face the Dodgers, much like the games the Dodgers lost to "good" teams who could experience a rash of injuries to key players when they face the Giants. Player hot streaks and slumps will also be a large factor.

Yes, SF will probably come back down to Earth, but the Dodgers just need to get healthy and hopefully find their rhythm to keep pace and then hopefully overtake SF if they have any hiccups.

Maybe, maybe not. But a lot of the AL is garbage this year and someone has to win games. BAL is trash as usual, as is MIN, DET, TEX, KC, Angels. The Yankees are a huge disappointment too.

I'm not looking at SoS, but looking at how the rest of the teams are doing, it would seem as though maybe BOS is just being the beneficiary of playing against a lot of bad teams thus far.

At least with Boston they got a few studs in that lineup. SF is going off with guys who were almost out of the league. Weird.

JD/Devers/Xander/Verdugo is a solid core surrounded by really good utility guys. Their pitching is suspect though.

Of course we don't run on a 3-2 pitch with 1 out, and it's another double play. We play such passive baseball. Of course we can't do crap with Bauer starting, as per usual.

Bauer is a beast. I hope he doesn't get burnt out.

Quote:
After throwing 117 pitches his last time out, Bauer is through seven scoreless innings at 115 pitches.

I'm guessing we're letting Bauer go to crazy pitch counts because we got him on a 1 year deal?

He's a horse, doesn't believe in pitch counts, would pitch on 3 days' rest if asked to during the regular season, and he didn't want to sign with a team that was going to baby him and take him out after 100 pitches and all that.

Bauer seems to have a high pitch per inning average. Seems like a lot of games he’s at 110-120 in the 7th inning

Man I hope so and it’s seems like this will be the case. But man, it seems just about every time I look at the scoreboard, they’re losing and then I check back in a few and they’re winning. I mean, they were down 7-0 to the d’backs last week and still came back.

They definitely have the confidence in them and they know they’re never out of a game no matter the score. That is a huge mental boost for them.

And then it also seems to be every single guy in the lineup who’s coming through for them. Seems they have a good thing going. We really could’ve stepped on their throats a few weeks back after taking the first 4 against them only to lose the following 3 and give them back their confidence.

Buehler has something brewing going into the seventh inning. The main concern right now is the pitch count.

Such a travesty that Walker gets tagged with two earned runs after that great performance. Crap reliever.

Say what you want about Friedman and co but they sure know how to plug holes in the lineup. Year after year we find guys that nobody thinks have any business being in the league. Pujols and Souza are absolutely crushing today.

Dodgers were up 9-1 and now it's 9-8.

Yeah Friedman is the best. Sucks that we lost Farhan. I heard that he pushed really hard for us to get Muncy.

Brutal blow especially considering what he’s doing over in SF. Wish he went anywhere but the Bay.

Bad news in terms of the pen coughing up what is normally insurmountable leads yet again.

Good news, both Muncy and Belli should be ready to go either Tues or Wed!

I'd expect us to drop tonight against Darvish but we should take the next 2 back to full strength.
