Really big to get that win tonight. Need to finish out the series strong now. Doesn't seem like Betts/Turner/Muncy are injured seriously, and you know the Dodgers will exercise caution if they could aggravate something. Would be nice to see them all in the lineup tomorrow, but I'm probably being overly optimistic.

I hope I’m wrong but I doubt if we see any of them start tomorrow

Last night was the biggest win of the year. The Dodgers could have been 4 games behind the Giants in the loss column.

I could maybe see Mookie back seeing as he's missed the last 3 games but highly doubtful Muncy and JT are in the lineup.

Not sure if Seager is back today as well as I thought I heard rumblings of him returning Wednesday.

But glad to be back to the normal part of our rotation. Hopefully we can get solid starts from Urias and Buehler as the Giants are a bit banged up as well (no Belt, Longoria or Crawford) and Posey is due a day off soon (likely against Buehler).

Great win last night though. That was a huge swing in the standing as 32 pointed out.

Roberts said Turner will be available to hit off the bench tonight. Dodgers were thinking about giving him the day off anyway. Betts remains day-to-day. Roberts said it's a possibility Betts goes on the IL, which he didn't think would be the case a few days ago.

No JT, so the offense (which was already bad) is really struggling. Hopefully, our relievers can hold them off.

Sigh - up 2-1, and Kenley blows the save. Down 3-2. Treinen was honestly looking so smooth, that I wish we just let him pitch the 9th.

Is Jansen going back to being the unreliable closer he was in the last few years? Everything else is going wrong for this team so why not? What a (bleep) joke.

Velocity is back down. I don't get how his velocity just fluctuates so much. He's at 92 tonight. I've honestly never seen a closer whose velocity can fluctuate so much from game to game.

Yeah his MO has been good first half then falters after the All Star break then we all want him gone by the playoffs

Looks like he’s going to need 30+ pitches tonight

Roberts won't pull him because he doesn't want to shake his confidence, but he might have to if we are going to have any chance to come back.

Welp, at least it only took him 27 pitches to get 1 out.

Very efficient.

I wish SF had a Bellinger that Jansen could face in the 9th.

V. Gon doesn't come through. Can't say I'm surprised.

Got squeezed on that 3-1 pitch though, that was brutal.

Why can’t Bellinger bat for SF in the 9th?

We just can't catch the Giants. I'm starting to get the feeling that it's not our year with the Bauer situation and all the injuries.

I get that the injury situation is killing our team (and we are short players), but Belli CANNOT be in our lineup. He sucks. Replace him with someone who can hit over .200, and maybe we can get a couple more hits/runs, and wins.

We’re back 2 games with major injuries while playing like horse crap.

You have to believe we’ll add a few pitchers and getting guys back will help as well so there’ll be no more Reks, Raley, Neuse etc.

With Seager coming back soon, we may just need to move Taylor to CF with Muncy manning second vs lefties (with Pujols playing 1st) and McKinstry/Lux playing second against righties.

Bellinger is like watching the pitcher hit right now. It's getting ridiculous. He's been pretty bad since the 2nd half of his MVP season, if we're being honest, although I know he's had some big moments since then, obviously. Still, he's hurting us.

By the way, did you see that ball completely eat Neuse up at third base that was ruled just foul in the 9th inning, before the Flores homer? He looked like an overmatched Little Leaguer on that, as if he had never fielded a ground ball before. I realize we weren't going to put Turner in once he pinch hit, but really? That's our best option to play third base at that time? I realize that we are pretty banged up right now, but I would have rather called up whomever the best veteran minor league infielder is that we have. Neuse has more than proven he's a complete butcher in the infield.

What if that offseason shoulder surgery sapped him of his power? Maybe that's why he can't catch up to fastballs anymore. It's just a guess.

Quote:
What's Bellinger's injury mean for his future?

McCullough: Bellinger, 25, is a sturdy young man. His injury history is brief.

He played in all 162 games in 2018. He played in 156 in 2019. His only stint on the injured reserve involved a sprained ankle during his rookie campaign in 2017. It was the sort of freak injury that is not considered chronic.

This surgery will be his first serious operation. It does not necessarily foretell doom, but shoulder injuries can often sap hitters of their power. Bellinger will have the winter to get himself rehabilitated.
