Low key, Damian Jones (remember him?) was actually a better fit with the Lakers. He knew his role and did it: defend and get lobs.

Damian Jones was solid for us but like Drummond he was getting scored on in the paint.

Only way I see Drummond coming back is if he takes a paycut but he already said he won’t take anything less than the MLE assuming this going to Derozan or Lowry he is not coming back and there hasn’t being any reports on that end

If people watched Damian Jones as often as they did Andre Drummond (in the case that we'd picked Jones instead) then the fans saying 'we should have kept Jones!' would be saying 'We should have got Drummond'.

Small sample sizes do that.

So... RW means no Dre right? Can’t have 4 players playing in the starting lineup playing the paint.

Spectrum SportsNet
@SpectrumSN
@AndreDrummond

was a force in the paint when he was on the floor. In 21 regular season games with the #Lakers he averaged a double-double (11.9 PTS, 10.2 REB) in just under 25 minutes.

If we throw out that first game injury Drummond's stats during the season for the Lakers was

12.3 PPG
10.7 REB
1.4 AST
1.2 STL
1.0 BLK
53.8% Field Goal
62.2% Free Throw
25.3 MPG

Depends on the market I'd assume. I think he'd like to return, but it depends what we can give him.

Particularly as Rudy Gay, Carmelo Anthony and Demar Derozan seem to be on the way. I can assume Rudy Gay and Carmelo are the veterans minimum. Derozan would likely be the mmle as I don't see him taking a third vets minimum. So it depends on what Drummond is willing to take and what other teams offer him.

I will say that having an elite rebounder on a team with Westbrook is a particularly good idea.

Rumor is that the Rockets intend to offer Drummond a 3 year 70M contract which would be 23.3M a year.

I doubt that's true but we'll find out tomorrow.

It doesn't make sense for any NBA team to pay him that.

I want to believe his agent just had it float out there to see if any teams would bite
