I had like 5K posts my 1st year on this site. Going into my 20th year here, I barely have 15K. Why? Because of those same tired viewpoints - they make the site unbearable at times. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns". |

He’s too small. We need a wing, not a small guard. We have enough small guards. |

Ironically, they have been injured. THT and Monk both hurt. Ellington, Nunn as well. Only THT out for a significant time. |

Those guys are all about the same size as Bradley. With Ariza out, we really don't have anyone to play the wing. There are people who think that maybe THT could fill that role because of his length, but he's out, too. _________________ Internet Argument Resolved |

seems like there's non basketball issue with Lakers-Bradley relationship, just gut feeling. Prob only Ennis is out there who's a taller perimeter defender, who else |

The fascination that some here seem to have for Avery Bradley goes well beyond what NBA teams really think of his contribution |

Any idea what criteria's were used to set the rankings?
I might put the Jazz at the top. Always puts out a competitive team despite being one of the least favorable FA destinations. Has done a good job identifying talent and assembling a respected coaching staff. |
I'd have to agree with Utah being above us. They've done really well despite having the biggest disadvantage when it comes to free agency. |
Totally disagree not only have they not done well in the playoffs. We drafted better than them. Russell all-star. Randle all-star most improved Ingram all-star most improved player. They've drafted one all-star. _________________ Coach Vogel, Kidd, Hollins

Giles waived by the Clippers in favour of Hartenstein
Worth giving him the 2nd two-way spot? _________________ #18 next... |

I believe Giles has more than 3 yrs of NBA service, so he would be ineligible for a 2-way deal.
Still he is an interesting name for a nonguaranteed 15th slot, if we are willing to spend the tax on it. There will be some other interesting names coming down the pike today.

Guard Dennis Smith Jr., will make the Portland Trail Blazers' opening night roster, source tells ESPN.
|
So Portland now stands at 14 and can fill one more spot with cuts that potentially involve Marquese Chriss (previously with Rob/Landmark agency), Quinn Cook & Patrick Patterson. _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

At this time I would consider Micah Potter who was released by the Heat. |

Do you consider draft position? Does it matter they all turned into all stars after breaking out on other teams? Including Lonzo they were selected 2nd, 2nd, 2nd and 7th in the entire draft. This also indicates the Lakers were at the lowest depths of the NBA to earn these draft slots. In essence they did pick the right player in that slot except for Lonzo over Jayson Tatum but Lonzo may still be able to close that gap.
If I had to choose between Donovan Mitchell and BI that would be a tough call. Who would you choose?
In the last 30 years there hasn't really been many homegrown Laker players of note except for one Kobe Bryant but that was 25 years ago. Vlade was 32 years ago. Do we count AC? Maybe you can fill in the blank.
I do understand their value as tradable assets but the Jazz in their situation need to hang on to their best talents to be competitive year over year. |

Assuming DeRozan and Williams start both Caruso and Ball will need to be active on the boards. This is one area I prefer RW scale back on to preserve his body from the wear and tear. |

Brodie need to go all out these next 2 seasons, Melo too, if they don't get a chip, they sit at Barkley's table instead of Pippen's |

All out in the playoffs I agree but not so sure about the regular season. Assuming DH and DJ get regular minutes in the RL then his presence on the boards will be lessen but in the playoffs where AD plays more C then yes his board work will be needed.
Nice use of the table analogy as RW will also affect Lebron if he wants to join MJ and Roman Reigns at the Head of the Table. |
