I am happy that I voted and leaned towards no for the Bogdan Kuzma trade. With Bogdan in place of Kuzma, we lose these last 2 games, IMO.

Kuzma is a game winning player. When he is on, he can literally take over a game and win it for you. He has done it a few times this season, and a player that can add 5-6 wins like that in a RS is an asset. He makes 2M a year. He was huge also in the Clipper Xmas game, and helped set the table up to win. Who knows, if Kuz was healthy (not a minutes restriction) we may win that game, as he was not allowed to close the game.

I am not a fan of his by any means, not the point where if he were traded I would follow him at all. I could careless about him the moment he is traded. But I am confident that he will get better with this role and only be better next season. I remain of the same opinion. If we trade him, we need to get someone in similar age and upside, at the guard spot. Not maybe as skilled a scorer, but someone capable to do the guard skills we could utilize. Otherwise, pass on the trade. Bogdan to me, and guys like that, they are fine role players.

We have more than enough vets. We could use a young exciting, ballhandling guard for sure. Someone that can do what Rondo this past game, on a consistent basis. Outside of getting a player like that, or by some miracle if someone wants to give us an all-star player for Kuzma, I am not for a Kuzma for a vet in decline trade. No way to Rose. No way to guys like that.

That's cold! zim!

I dig it, why would you trade Kuzma? Come on now.

Yeah, I really hope the coaching staff tries to get Kuzma going a little more. We have a fantastic record at the moment, but Kuzma's production is going to be critical against the elite of the elite teams.

The obvious issue is that Kuz's best "positions" and starting spots are taken up by LBJ/AD, who are considered top 7 players in the entire NBA.

So, Kuz will have to find a way to consistently do it off the bench, and has less than ideal consistent playmakers feeding him.

It will be a ballsy move for Pelinka either way to stand pat or trade him.

Vogel should be experimenting and start Kuz at the 2 with Green out and set up corner shots for him. Let’s see if team will respect him enough and if Kuz will make them pay if they don’t.

Problem is neither he or LBJ can guard most "SGs." Hardaway Jr. cooked Kuz on a few switches, but that's sort of expected. Green/Bradley are doing a good job fighting on defense against teams' guards.

It’s a process for Kuz, you guys always look for instant result. It’s a marathon regular season, young players like Kuz should be able to get that rope and learn. Green get dusted too on dribble drive although he is better help defender. Green can come off the bench, he’s done that.

Lebron can shut down any SG if push comes to shove but that’s not his role.

Kuz just doesn't move left/right quickly enough and I can't see him guarding well off screens. I think he's ok as an on ball defender but off ball it's pretty bad. Can't have that with SGs who are running to corner 3s, etc.

Kuz will be ok with our recently zone defense scheme. Green actually play better D with that too. Kuz has enough length to cover those corner 3s. It’s the constant perimeter switching and screens that he get lost on defense. His on ball defending has been decent too so I don’t mind if Vogel will experiment .

how much do we play zone? 10 mins every other game?

Not a lot but it looks promising in situational cases. Bradley has not been letting any lead playmaker get into their rhythm. Caruso, KCP and DG has been rotating well and AD and Lebron doing the safety on both corners. It could be something useful later on. But it’s definitely a scheme that we can utilized for a team like the Clips to trap both Kawhi and PG .

dawg zone is never promising at this level

Situational cases. Doc like to switch around so Kawhi can get his favorable matchup. How about we throw some zone and trap him. We can’t employ this all the time of course because Trez can find a hole somewhere in the middle but it’s better than Kawhi getting any shot he wants and get into rhythm so this will give a different look.

I wonder how much of his inconsistency has to do with what's going on in his life in LA...

Just looking at his worst games...the bagel the 1 for 7...this 1 for 7...all at Staples...

This Kuzma is damn near worthless.

Bring back Road Kuzma.

Oddly enough I seen a sequence in this game where he got a great block without fouling on one end and then crashed the offensive board and got a nice reverse layup on the other end which I simply can't picture last years Kuz or earlier this season even doing both of those things cleanly.

I was never worried about his shooting but his often bad decisions on both ends have been cleaned up extremely well along with his overall effort and hustle. This Kuz can be a problem, like in this game he didn't score well but I never felt like he was a complete liability because of it for the first time in the last few years tbh.

He's making it nearly impossible to trade him at this point considering how well the team is playing and the overall chemistry unless it's an absolute no brainer trade which I don't see happening.

Nothing but props to Kuz lately.

He will be back to his trash day once AD is back. It just seems that he's having a hard time on how he will play when he's not Lebron's first option.

The part that is frustrating about Kuzma is he went from a player that could actually impact the game in so many ways to only caring about scoring.

He was a really good rebounder at Utah. Even as a rookie, he had 17 games with double digit rebound and many with 13+.This year is basically allergic to rebounding.

His passing has also gone south as well. He should be getting you 3 assists a game at worst. He now is at 0-1 in most games. You saw McGee go at him in the Cavs game for not throwing the lob pass.

Someone needs to tell him to stop being Hollywood and get back to playing the style of basketball that got him drafted.

Checkout tonight’s Inside the Green Room, Danny and KCP talk about how they love and support Kuzma and they want him as a teammate and basically talk about how great chemistry is with this Lakers team.

Stuff like this makes me so hesitant to do a trade. Even though I'd love one of Bogdan/Covington, I don't think it would be worth the chemistry hit our team would take. A couple years ago I wouldn't have cared, but now it does make me pause.
