Didn't his good stretch of play start from before Ingram's injury? I agree there is some merit to the notion that Kuzma's playstyle is better without Ingram's ball pounding, but I think most of it is just Kuzma playing better.

Yeah. His play has improved lately, nothing to do with BI.
He started off the year in a funk and couldn’t find his rhythm.
I’m guessing everyone is adjusting to Lebron.
I thought he got better when he started guarding more perimeter guys.
Agreed. I understand why they were playing him as a small ball 5 in the preseason and early on, but it didn't work, so now they're letting Kuz be Kuz and it's working well.
Kuzma in 4 games of December: 23 points (57.1% fg, 37.5% 3p), 8.5 rebounds, 4 assists, 0.8 blocks, 1 steal in 35 minutes
Hard to complain about that, especially when he's also been playing better defense.
Is Kuzma a max player? Will the Lakers extend Kuzma or will they let him hit restricted free agency?
It’ll be interesting because he’s in the same draft as Lonzo and Hart. Interesting to see what they do with those 3.
Not exactly something to worry about till 2021.
I wouldn't say that. If we sign a major free agent next year and we extend Ingram in October, then they're going to have to seriously start looking at the roster in terms of how much more money they want to shell out.
With LeBron, major FA, + Ingram, you're looking at $100 mil in yearly salaries right there.
At that point, you're going to have to start thinking about Kuzma, Lonzo, and Hart and how much do they want to spend to keep all 3?
That inbound assist to KcP For the corner 3 was a thing of beauty, think it was what made 6.
The play was set up for Svi I think but Kuz recognized KcP's defender was focused on the strong side action and turned his head.
Kuz hesitates naturally, he's still getting used to sharing and its a tricky pass.
I think the play is decent evidence of floor reading, he's passing of late might not be an aberration after all.
Not that I expect 5apg but it's good that he's seeing more than the hoop.
Kuzma looks like the number 2 draft choice.
And Hart like the 27.
And Lonzo like the 30th.
If Lonzo doesn't learn to shoot the ball he is already
Kendall Marshall at his best.
The other teams are playing him to pass and sagging of him
and clogging the passing lanes.
He is more of a liability to Lebron now.

Lonzo as Kendall??? Of all the young talent, Lonzo has the best shot at being the lead on a team. On this team his defense does a lot for us it just doesn’t show up on the boxscore.
With Bron, Kuz and Josh Hart though I feel Lonzo and Ingram should be sent out for an All Star player. Not because Ingram and Lonzo aren’t good but because we need a better fit and more immediate help.

Kuzma costs us 2 mil next year. It's a steal. He's the least likely to be moved of the young core. Josh Hart also costs us only 2 mil next year.

We are pumping BI and Ball's value for a reason. Next year, add another Max star and a trade for an All star. This is what Kobe is talking about CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!
