Khawi has some logical choices (Toronto,he won chip there, longest and richest contract;Sixers, less money and maybe shorter contract, but standing Warriors issues they would be instant favourites to win it all in 2020; Lakers, teaming up with the best 1-2 punch in NBA nowadays,i mean LeBron and AD is huge, really really huge duo,in your own city) and one completely illogical; i mean, who in right minds would prefer play alongside the likes of Gallinari,Harrell,Shamet and Gilgeous Alexander?
If he joins Clips it could go down as one of the most moronic free agency decisions ever
It could be another PG13/OKC thing where you just overthought it. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
Honestly not the end of the world if he doesn't come. He's a quirky guy and wants to operate on his own terms.
Toronto probably makes a lot of sense, but they will have to re-sign: Green (this year), Lowry/Ibaka/Gasol (assuming he opts in). Then Siakam is a RFA soon (and will get the max) and Van Vleet is on a short deal.
Long story short, this could become the 2011 Mavs where the Raps take the chip and disband the crew.
He may choose the Clips, but hey, they will then operate under the shadow of the Lakers and he will have to work so hard during the regular season (not a conference where he can do Load Management) that it may wear him down.
Or, join Team Load Management with 2 future HOFers already in tow. I mean on paper, it seems somewhat clear, but KL, he's not like any of us.
If I'm Pelinka, I'd ask Kobe to join the pitch. Kobe can tell Kawhi what his greatest regret is- breaking up a super duo with Shaq because he wanted to be his own man. Kobe should tell Kawhi he shouldnt be competing with Lebron, KD's legacies. He should be competing with MJs legacy. Imagine jow many rings he cab win with AD and Lebron
I'd actually not have Kobe there.
I would let LBJ/AD do the talking. Not shift to the past great Lakers presentation.
Talk about how the 3 of them will Load Manage this together. Clips? He's going to have to work so hard during the regular season IMO. You can't just coast in the West with 1 star only. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
As of now, Clippers are a worse option than us or Toronto, so i see no reason for him to go there
Clippers took a healthy GS 6 games. Until we know who would fill out the rest of the roster. I can't say Clippers are a worse option than us.
Half of that team are free agents now, which is how they have cap space in the 1st place. They still are short of having space for 2 maxes though, so if Kawhi wants to come with someone else, they would have to clean up even more of last seasons team. And him coming alone? Would make little sense since his supporting cast in Toronto is better..
Him, James, AD and Kuzma is a better team than anything the Clippers can even dream of fielding, we are definitely a better situation for him to come in and win _________________ 48 49 50 52 53 54 72 80 82

Unfortunately AD can’t participate in any pitch meetings because the trade is still not finalized, so he’s not technically a Laker yet.
I do think Kobe could be useful in the meeting from the standpoint of telling Kawhi how Judy Seto helped extend his career, and how the franchise takes care of their own. Besides that, just LBJ, Pelinka and Vogel in the room please. Let Magic woo Uncle Dennis by himself

Ha true. But he can participate with an encrypted line using a voice modifier and blurred out image. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

AD can attend a meeting come the 30th via telepresence or in person... just have an overlapping free agent meeting. _________________ DEAR BASKETBALL

Or just shave the unibrow and throw on a fake mustache. Fullproof!
Jokes aside I would be shocked if AD has not already gotten in touch with Kawhi to discuss playing together.

Apparently the non-Laker AD is furiously texting prospective FAs about joining him and LBJ on the Lakers. I hate these stupid scenarios where Deandre Hunter is forced to wear a Lakers cap on his big draft day, or that AD has to wait until he's "formally" a Laker to be introduced. NBA semantics at its worst. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

I heard some talk about the NBA moving the draft after FA period and that a lot of execs would prefer it that way. Hopefully it gains some traction.
Didn't the Dubs have the last meeting with KD outside of OKC? Dunno if it matters, but I'd prefer to have the last recruiting pitch and have a shot at leaving a real imprint in the FA's head going into his final decision.

Remember when the Clips met with KD during his free-agency?

Clippers meeting with Durant was “intense” and “at one point Steve Ballmer was crying” but everyone grew closer and a big lesson was learned

HAHAHA. Crying during a sales pitch? wft
Just picture the sound of Ballmer crying and Kawhi laughing. It would probably make the hair on the back of everyone's neck stand up. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant

I've found some video of that pitch. It looks like the clippers are gearing up to try it again. If at first you don't succeed...
