Regardless of what people say about Simmons I think he is a hell of a player.

If he gets paired up with Lillard they will be rock solid...

That's what he needs a place where his guards can shoot lights out and he can play the draymond role

Do you prefer Simmons over the Sabonis/LeVert package?

It’s likely gonna be a major overhaul of a trade.. Westbrook and THT and others, this is if Westbrook and the Lakers can’t figure it out.

I have two words, Kevin Pritchard.

so you think russ is appealing to teams? An overhaul is AD for evan mobley +and go young with russ leading which he can do.

Yeah that probably kills any deal, if the Lakers continue to be inconsistent my hunch is that there gonna decide to hold on to Westbrook and shop AD instead.

Cavs aren’t trading Mobley for AD, and you can read my post when I responded to VLF.

yep smfh.

PG: Lowry
SG: Bradley or Monk
SF: DeRozan
PF: Bron
C: Davis

That's a TUUUUFFFFF squad. Sigh....

I like DeRozan and feel like he’s been unfairly criticized, but I don’t think he would be nearly as effective if he was a Laker this season.

The Bulls are a modern NBA team with great spacing. The Lakers are still stuck in 90s basketball.

This roster has all the pieces, but if you are stubborn about playing a certain style..it doesn’t matter who you have.

Good for him joining the Bulls. He has all the spacing to operate.

Mitchell’s 4 titles with the Lakers showed that he could succeed in a large market.

I’m a resident Mitch fan. Don’t think the Kobe/Shaq teams end up with as many titles without his contributions. But I would contend that the nature of the job changed with leverage shifting to the players and their agents. Calling at 12:01a and playing by the league’s guidelines aren’t a fit for a market that players are willing to scheme their way to.

It becomes funnier every year that Rob couldn't smoke this guy in a trade. He gave him everything he wanted.

Rob should have kept the 1st round pick and drafted T. Herro or D. Garland.

That would certainly be a classic Magic trade.

Maybe some day the Lakers will catch up to the modern game.

Except for those pesky CBA rules that would have imposed a hard cap should we try to S&T for Derozan.

Luke/Brian Cook/Sasha/2nd rounders should be enough to get a deal done!

Sorry for a second i thought i was in 2008 again wondering what good players we could get for our package of crappy nothing.

Realistic speaking what would you guys give up for Sabonis or Turner? Westbrook likely needs to be involved.

If we're talking "realistically" nobody is trading for Russell Westbrook with his 87 million remaining. He's playing better right now, but it's nowhere close to the level of production his contract pays. And he's not turning any team into a Finals team. So why trade for him?

I could see Luka carrying AD to a title.

A young LBJ or CP3...

The problem is there are usually very few players of that caliber available.

Giannis won a title with Jrue and Khris.

AD couldn't get past the first round with Jrue, Rondo, Mirotic...

So if maybe if Cuban dies and his wife has no interest in basketball I suppose we have a chance of acquiring him.

Are holiday, rondo, and mirotic supposed to be a playoff caliber supporting cast?

He also lost to the Warriors who were the best the team in the nba. Davis went off in those series.

The other time he played the Blazers and they swept them. Then played the Warriors again in the second round.

intellectual dishonesty is the norm

Kevin Garnett won 51 games with Wally Szcerbiak and Troy Hudson.

He won 58 games with old versions of Sprewell and Sam Cassell.

He got to the WCF and took two games off of the Kobe/Shaq/Malone/Payton superteam.

Can you really visualize AD doing this?

I keep waiting for AD to carry a team like Giannis or KG since we gave up so much to acquire him.

If we just signed him then I wouldn't keep harping on this so much. The dude tries but he just isn't who everyone thought he was anymore than Pau could lead us without Kobe.

But sure, I'm the one who's being dishonest.

We paid the price for a player who could lead us when LBJ is hurt or retired... if we wanted a good player who puts up numbers but doesn't lead the team anywhere then we might as well have stuck with Ingram and kept all the other assets.

We just over payed for Davis because they were boxscore watching and not game time watching. They seen the empty stats; similar to Drummond putting up as a Piston and Cav; Kevin Love was putting up as a Timberwolve, and the FO over paid for him, thinking he was some thing he wasn't. And now people are seeing exactly what Pelican fans and people who honestly watched him seen. I did wanna see what him and Bron could do together, considering they are physical specimen, but Davis is not that good offensively, from a technical aspect. Great defender though, but if we are looking for him to lead us if Bron is hurt or retires, he will..... Straight to the lottery.

We don't really get better with Jeremy Lamb. If we trade THT for him, we do get older. I could see Rob doing this trade though. It goes with some other questionable moves.

We don't have the assets to get the pacers to even think about trading Sabonis and LeVert

Levert is shooting like 23% from the 3, which is worse than THT

Like how? Derozan taking mini MLE instead of 27 mil? If that’s what he wanted, we could’ve had Westbrook and derozan.
By the way, did you watch Lowry play this season? 31% from the 3( lower than Westbrook)

Even with the injuries, LeVert is a hell of a player an d 3pt shooting is not everything....but he's better in 3pt shooting(career 33%) than THT

Rockets got totally robbed trading away LeVert.
Nobody would give you LeVert for THT

Ok, since we have so many passive aggressive ‘I don’t like the Russ trade’ post in the form of new polls lol, a quarter season done, whether u like the trade or not, do y’all think the asset was fair?
(The way I see it, Trez coulda walked, we might get an all star for combo of Kuz+KCP+late 1st, somewhere in the neighborhood of… Westbrook, so it’s kinda fair asset)
