Filed to ESPN: Andrew Luck has informed the Colts he is retiring from the NFL, per source. There will be a press conference Sunday to make it official, but Luck is mentally worn down, and now checking out.

What a brutal day of news for the NFL. Luck is one of their signature stars, really. Of course, the league will go on without him, but what a huge blow for the Colts, especially.

A blow for the Colts? yes but beyond that I don't think the NFL will be that affected by this.

Maybe if it happened 5 years ago but not today.

Regardless as I said earlier this makes letting Manning look really stupid because he got the last laugh.

Another reason why teams don't play their starters in pre-season...what a waste.

The Texans do have Duke Johnson, but he's not a carry-the-mail type in terms of early-down carries. They have to be in the market for a RB that can carry some type of load. I would imagine that they will be watching the RB's that are a part of final cuts very closely.

Melvin Gordon on the block, not surprised, he didn't have much leverage to begin with and Chargers will be happy to pick up a running back if he decides to play elsewhere.

Texans seem like a perfect fit. I keep seeing the Buc's mentioned, but we are up against the cap now.....just do not see how we could find another $10+ Million to fit him in.

Colts give Brissett a 2-year, $30MM extension, with $20MM guaranteed. Feels pretty generous, if you ask me. I guess they can still get a QB next year if they want to, though.

Cowboys and Zeke finally agree to a deal. It's a 6-year extension for $90MM, and over the course of the next 8 years he gets just over $100MM, with roughly half of that guaranteed. It's the richest contract for a RB in NFL history. Should be giddy-up for Week 1 for him now.

it has to drive someone like him crazy when he looks over sees the money the Rams gave Goff with nearly all of it guaranteed.

Brown is a head case. I'm not surprised by this suspension judging from his history. The Raiders rolled the dice and so far it's come up crap.

I wonder if the suspension is without pay?

The Steelers got third and fifth round picks for this guy. I think the Raiders overpaid.

Maybe Mayock getting on top of it early will help...I doubt it, but maybe. Gruden has seemed to soften because he did not put up with much when guys like Keyshawn would challenge him. As more info seems to come out, the more it appears the Steelers created a "monster".

It's one that ends with being on the Jets.

one issue is everyone knows the Raiders are not 100% locked in on Carr, and they have moved many costly vets....so there probably is nobody in that locker room that has a similar influence as Big Ben had in Pittsburgh. Dudes may not have cared for Ben, but they knew the organization was 110% behind him....and you would go before Ben was moved.
