I disagree.

Well, I came out in the political thread a while ago, so...the men's side. LOL.

Netherlands had the lookers...and I love team USA, but the Dutch ladies had it going on from a legs perspective.

I know, inappropriate but the reality is the sport does have major sex appeal on the women's side including Megan Rapinoe who looked fantastic in the SI Swimsuit issue.

In that regard, it was really all about the Swedes . . . I mean Lina Hurtig is stunning.

From an entertainment perspective, Hope Solo is the gift that keeps on giving.

Quote:
The U.S. Soccer Federation and the 28 past and present U.S. Women’s National Team members suing their governing body over their compensation can agree on one legal point at least: they don’t want Hope Solo as part of their mediation.

In legal motions filed Friday in U.S. District Court for Northern California, the USWNT through forward Alex Morgan, and the USSF, each rebuffed Solo’s July 22 legal pitch to join the “equal-pay” mediation that they agreed to last month. Solo, who individually sued the USSF over equal pay issues last year, charged in her motion the USWNT would not withstand the federation’s pressure without her intervention.

Morgan and her peers do not appear to have taken kindly to that suggestion.

One more time, as one of the comments said, I have seen this gol [sic] 10 million times can't get enough of it.

58 seconds of pure artistry.

Pure gold.

Quote:
Former U.S. Women’s National Team star goaltender Hope Solo on Monday in court filings called for legal sanctions against her former teammates and their counsel for rejecting her bid to be part of “equal-pay” mediation with the U.S. Soccer Federation.

In a strongly-worded, 10-page motion calling for sanctions, Solo wrote that if her teammates’ brief on Friday to exclude her from mediation is not stricken from the record, the document would “continue to cause Solo humiliation, vilify Solo’s persona, mischaracterize Solo’s causes of actions and filings, and cause irreparable harm to her character and reputation.”

The “improper filing of the untruthful Opposition has already caused Solo to suffer undeserved irreparable harm, ridicule and humiliation in the mainstream and social media,” she wrote.

The team is playing a "victory lap" game against Ireland at the Rose Bowl.

Way cool for you, as now I seem to recall you said something about that before, that I did not immediately place. I'll have to see if there is TV coverage. There certainly should be.

Though we've all heard parts of this, here's a five minute video explaining why the US women are so dominant (scoring more goals in one game than did the men's team in every World Cup from 2006, combined) in soccer. Part of it is simply the misguided notion throughout much of the world that soccer was just not a women's sport, and as a result, many countries banned them from playing in the past.

I coached by daughter's rec team until she moved up to comp, where she played until U16.

Never did I see a any girl at any age that was as good as was Lavelle at 11.
