I regret letting go of DLO, but, honestly, (bleep) Randle. He is a low-IQ, mentally weak player that will fold when it matters most, and he's not exactly a rim protector, which is what we need from the PF/C position.

Because of Deng's 5M hold, we can't. We could trade Ingram/Kuzma/filler to create room for Randle if we land Kyrie or Kawhi. I'm good with that.

And there you lost me...

I'd only get rid of BI to make room for AD in 2020.

How about we work out a S&T with New Orleans for Randle? Oh wait...

I liked JR but his low ball IQ will not sit well with Lebron. Hard pass for me

S&T for Kawhi or Kyrie if they make it known to TOR or BOS they won't return.

S&T was on my mind and I apologize for not making that clear.

Not disputing what you're saying but Randle's BBIQ is no lower than Tristan Thompson and he worked out quite well next to LeBron.

Randle in the P&R with Lonzo was not a bad player.

Randle is a finisher, not a creator. That type of player does well next to LeBron. Watch Randle/Lonzo connection...I predict the same with Randle/LeBron in the P&R.

One of the things LeBron didn't have a lot of last year was someone setting hard screens for him. Lonzo set most of the good screens LeBron got. Get Randle to buy into that type of role and he's a great fit without needing to think too much. LeBron spoon-feeds his guys, negating the need for a high basketball IQ...which is good and what you want but in a limited role, not a deal breaker.

I watched Access SportsNet Lakers this morning and they were talking AD and what it would take to get him here by trade. Now we talk and name the names, BI, Zo, Kuz and the 4 rd pick. When the guys removed those names, all the had on the board was AD and LBJ. They looked silly trying to insert Hart at shooting guard and resigning Bullock and Megee on the cheap. That line up had more holes than swiss cheese. Nothing on the bench looked attractive to move to the starting line up. Move on from the AD Dream, it's a trainwreck.

Looks great with floor spacing and shooters on the floor, both of which we had none of last season.

Highly doubt Jules or DLO would even consider the Lakers after they left the team on bad terms.

This may depend on how things played out behind the scenes. Did Rob share Magic's stance about either of them? Was he cold towards either of them? Magic went out of his way to publicly label Dlo as being a non-leader. Perhaps with Magic removed from the equation, they may not hold the same negative view of the Lakers. Just a thought...

I'm not going to pass on another Max Free Agent in order to bring back Randle.

Options (as unlikely as they are and not all are MAX) in kinda order:

1. Durant
2. Kawhi
3. Kyrie
4. Klay
5. Butler
6. Middleton
7. T Harris
8. Vucevic
9. Kemba
...
...
...
XX. Randle

Maybe but unlikely.

I would question why he as the GM didn't stop it. Or the owner, etc.

Basically everyone sans Magic is still there from the organizational decision tree that signed off on it.

Who said we have to pass on a max Free Agent? S&T is still available for any of those players and I doubt a team would mind picking up a young player or 2 instead of losing a Max Level Free Agent for nothing, right?

Tristan Thompson knew his role on the team and that's why it worked out. I don't see JR accepting that type of role.

Yeah, all last season I was saying to myself

“Self, what our team really needs...the missing piece...is the 35th best center in the league. If we could possibly just add the 3rd worst Defensive center in league who is the 142nd best player on the NBA we’d be complete” (NBA RPM numbers)

Dude is just average at best and want to be paid and stat pad.

If you can outright sign a max-worthy free agent, you do that first. You don't fool around with signing Randle then relying on a sign-and-trade. You've got this all backwards. No one does this.

Myopic laker fans that fall in love with our draft picks. Stop. Randle couldn’t even get more the 9 mil a year last year. Nobody wanted him. Why is that? Cuz he is a stat ladder on a bad team. I don’t want randle back in a laker uniform ever unless it’s at the MLE and even then I’m not so sure. Can we fall in love with winning again instead of draft picks we got as a result of being the clippers.
