Tonight was a big game for THT. With the Kyrie and Schroder ejections I honstly felt like losing Dennis might hurt the Lakers more than losing Kyrie would hurt the Nets. They still had a superstar out there in Durant and up until that point Kyrie and Dennis had cancelled one another out.

The Lakers only really had one guy left who could generate offense out of the pick and roll effectively and that was THT. He had to play well of the Lakers were going to cough up the lead. He delivered.

Yep. He’s actually relying on his midrange game more and more. Would like to see him develop a floater and pair it with his eurostep. Keep the defense guessing. He can then bring out his reverse when the defense goes big/high.

Kid can definitely be one of Lakers main men when Bron departs. This kid is a jump shot away from being a cerebral player. He even not afraid of Kyrie and KD and keep on attacking them earlier.

To be fair, interior defense is not exactly a strength of this nets team.

I think people should lower their expectations a little bit.

He slithers to the rack, doesn't shy away from contact and finish well

Still plays like a rookie but talk about a late round steal. Will be interesting how they keep him, but he has some talent. Playing defacto playmaker is making him a more rounded player as well. Needs to be more consistent from deep. IF he can become a good 3pt shooter, the sky is the limit. I know it is way too early but he reminds me of Harden early in his career. If you compare Harden's rookie year to THT this year (which is more accurate as they were both 20 and THT honestly didn't play last year) and THT has a better 2pt percentage, Harden a better 3pt percentage. He has slightly higher assists as well. Harden played a little more per game as well. Neither has off the charts athleticism but they can turn it on when they need to. Both are a bit wide bodied as well.

He's restricted and the most any team can give him is an MLE level deal. They will certainly match considering they refused to trade him for Lowry.

The TNT crew needs to do their homework. When they threw it to Mark Jackson to comment on the fact that the Lakers didn't get Kyle Lowry when they refused to give up Tucker, Jackson just was a dear in headlights.

Finally, he coughed up that the Lakers should have done it because they are in win now mode and that move would have made them better right now. However, if he knew that the trade was more than just Tucker, and that it also included having to give up Schroder and Pope as well! That move would not have made the Lakers better right now.

They need to do their job better.

Rachel nichols set them up and put them on the spot. She prompted that discussion and basically forced her co-announcers to spit out controversial takes while she kept quiet and let them make a fool of themselves. If i was mark i would have asked her back for her opinion and let her get herself out of the (bleep) she started.

I do not like Rachel Nicholes at all. She brings a TMZ vibe to basketball, that I absolutely hate.

It's becoming even more apparent as we go through more teams in the league, THT needs to develop his left hand to be elite. He can get deep in the paint with ease, but needs a plan B other than just toss it to who he can, such as switching his finishing hand to his left and using his body to create space.

Do you guys think that THT will become a legit facilitator/lead guard? He's had some high assist games lately, but I just don't see a facilitator in him. When he brings the ball upcourt, he brings it up at half-speed looking to set himself up, instead of pushing it down the middle of the court and looking for the open man on the fast break.

THT is even more of a shoot-first player than Schroder.

I don't know how good he will be, but I can see talent and confidence in him that I don't see in many players that are picked low like him.

It’s a process. The game has not slowed down for him enough to read the defense. Time is on his side and hes slowly becoming a willing passer albeit his vision is still a work in progress. We have a lot of veteran smart guys and great guard like Kidd to mold him into a winning type of player.

THT is definitely the future of the Lakers Back-Court. It's great to see him evolve as a player and remembering that he's only 20 years old.
He will only continue to get better overtime. His length and athleticism/size, puts him in a category of his own. There's really no guards in the league like him.
He can easily man the point position for us, imagine if he had more minutes and his player as a starter has been a tremendous bright spot looking forward. THT is a 'Baller' and he'll be a handful for opposing guards for years to come!
The Lakers future is bright if we can keep THT on the roster!

So much talent. Needs refining, like every 20 year old, but he has an innate sense of getting to the rim.

This year, my hope is that he improves on defense. He ball watches way too much and is susceptible to letting his man get free. And he's usually guarding guys who are shooters and that is a no no. I have a lot of high hopes for him and am happy we didn't trade him for Lowry.
