Try defending that song. The whole ska-punk thing is a bad memory (should have stopped with Operation Ivy, but didn't).

I'm too blinded by the white hot heat emanating from your take to defend one of the few bad songs that came out of an exceptional cultural movement. _________________ Under New Management

How dare you (although I haven't seen them in awhile..)
I was brainwashed growing up in the 90s into thinking Ferris Beuller wasn't a sociopath and that Judd Nelson was cool or something. Play 80s "classics" like Sixteen Candles, Top Gun, and Dirty Dancing enough times on basic cable and they start to seem good through sheer mind-numbing repitition. _________________ Under New Management

Do I have to start linking to Goldfinger videos?
I'd prefer the Aquabats or Voodoo Glowskulls, por favor. _________________ Under New Management

Ah, those Mormons in superhero attire. Yes, it was fun but bad.
I grew up in Orange County and went to college in Santa Barbara. Sublime has stalked me through most of my life. One single guitar upstroke from them can make my skin crawl. On the day our society finally consumes itself, Sublime will ring out in the streets as the flames engulf us. _________________ 14-5-3-12

Now if we want to really go back, I'd start with slavery, the treatment of native Americans bordering on genocide, the woman's place as it was and her inability to vote, and men wearing those god-awful wigs, especially the French.
You used to like all this?
Ribeye has walked a strange and twisted path. He still has a couple of the wigs in a drawer somewhere.
Knowing rib by post image only I think he's talking about things he dislikes. I'd bet the condo he doesn't use to like the things he listed.

DAMN! It took a minute but the posts intention finally sunk in. THINGS THAT WERE POPULAR...

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

MTV
Fox11 from 2-4:00pm
Disney media
pizza hut
french fries - this one has blown my mind. Never thought I'd have an aversion to french fries, but in the past year I've gone from like, to indifferent, to dislike
What was ever good on Fox11 from 2-4, I Love Lucy reruns?
There was a time when Spiderman, X-Men, Batman, Power Rangers and others were on during that block.
If you go back a while longer, Scooby Doo, Superfriends, Voltron, Thundercats, He-Man, Robotech aired on Fox11 and KCOP/UPN 13. I Love Lucy, Get Smart, Bewitched and others were always being switched around different afternoon slots back in the 80s.

Wasn't there a time when it was just awful talk shows, or maybe I'm confusing it with 13.

CH9, 11, and 13 all played cartoons in those timelots during the 80's and 90's. They started to disappear in the late 90's. Probably a consequence of the OJ Simpson trial and the public fascination with reality TV.
