Beatles' White Album DOES have some filler songs. Perhaps it IS too long? Sacrilege to most Beatles fans that hottake is, but I've been listening to it while surfing for the last 3 days and Iono, man... Some of those tracks concern me. You got Yoko singing in The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill. Rocky Raccoon is one I appreciate more than I did before. Clever. Dispels John's comment that Paul only wrote "Granny songs".

To any Beatles fan who disagrees, come at me, brah.

Abbey Road is the Beatles best album.

I've heard that before, and didn't really object to it (correct answer is Revolver ofc).

Best R.E.M album might be New Adventures in Hi-Fi.

Abbey Road is a band at its absolute peak coming apart in real time. There’s an urgency to it that is missing from all the rest. You can feel the band feeling the end. It is sad, and immediate, and beautiful.

The cases were a pain in the ass to open, and they would always crack. I remember cutting my hand on one once.

Yeah terrible packaging. Lots of protective stickers too. Though oddly, the imports never had them, and the plastic on those was easier to peel for some reason. I rejoiced when they came up with the digipak, wish all CDs were packaged like that.

Since this is a hot take thread... Eleanor rigby is my favorite Beatles song. I know it’s not from Abbey Road. But it was the 1st Beatles song I ever internalized as a child. So it’s my favorite.

If you skip through most if not all of Jim and Pam's speaking parts, and stop watching after DeAngelo Vickers is gone, The Office becomes a consistently enjoyable series.

It was at the time, tho. Not as novel as VCRs were, but no more BS LPs (Licorice Pizzas) or cassettes that would melt in your car. You gotta have a great set up or be an audiophile with bat ears to appreciate the supposed "warmth" of vinyl over CD quality. That's my hottake.

Amy Robach ABC news owned by Disney. Was hot Miked from another whistle blower ABC news killed this story 3 years ago. I don’t know why this will be a hot topic but it will be here for some. Wonder what else they’re hiding if they are protecting other famous pedophillia lovers? Doesn’t fit the narrative I guess.
Really Gross by ABC to covered this up!!!!

“I’ve Had This Story for Three Years… (ABC) Would Not Put It on The Air” says Good Morning America BREAKING NEWS Anchor, and 20/20 Co-Anchor Amy Robach. “It Was Unbelievable… We Had – Clinton, We Had Everything…”
Robach: “We Had Her Whole Allegations About Prince Andrew…I Got a Little Concerned About Why I Couldn’t Get On.”
Amy Robach Describes How She Interviewed a Woman Who Had the Courage to Come Forward “Years” Ago About Epstein: “She Had Pictures, She Had Everything. She Was in Hiding for Twelve Years. We Convinced Her to Come Out. We Convinced Her to Talk to Us.”
Robach Details ABC’s Initial Response to Her: “Who’s Jeffrey Epstein? No One Knows Who That is. This is a Stupid Story”
Robach: “Now it’s All Coming Out … I Freaking Had All Of It…”

HOT TAKE: I don't enjoy the Beatles. I get their impact, but they don't move me.

I also don't think Michael Jordan is the best player to ever play basketball.

I also don't think NYC is the best city in the world. Probably not in my top 5.

Just because something is repeated over and over again doesn't make it objectively true.

Analog usually handles bottom end better than digital. Most listeners equate bottom end with "warmth".

I like to burn my CDs to my pc using the lossless encoder, and then burn those to my iPhone. That way I have CD quality music with me on the go. Literally makes my day better. And (bleep) streaming. (hopefully that's not a hot take)

You and I are pretty much on the same page.

I don't feel NY is the greatest city, and I definitely don't think Jordan was the greatest basketball player.

I wouldn't say I don't enjoy the Beatles, but they are not a band that moves my needle anymore. I won't change the station if a Beatles song comes on, but I haven't chosen to listen to any of their music in decades.

Warmth is another word for distortion. You'll notice it if you use a tube amp.

Another reason they "sound better" is because they're faster. That's the trick in Regas, at least.

Also, if you put all the work into getting out a record, swiping it with a carbon brush or whatever, you're usually listening harder than hitting play on your phone.
