Wondering if they will both sit out same games and likely take a loss, or if Vogel will stagger their rest and potentially lose 2 games (with a small chance to win 1 or 2)

Might happen if they lose the game against the Suns. But they have a streak going right now.

Hopefully they can blowout the team the first game.

There is no reason to play LEBRON against the GSW.
Put AB on DLO, and that will be that

Phx is playing surprisingly well now

Don’t care about load management as much as seeing Kuz step into that 3rd option role and Rondo back to help with ball handling That way LEBRON and Ad can be closer to 30-32 mpg instead of 34-36 theyre averaging now.

There is so much rest before each game that it isn't really necessary. They really just need to dial LeBron back if he ever gets tired, he doesn't need to do this much for them to win these games.

Ideal will be back to back blow outs. It’s like playing 1 game in 2 nights. But Suns are playing well right now too. Might be another tough game. Not to mention every game will be extra motivation for other teams top stop our streak.

I agree, basically any back to back I would rest LeBron.

Going to be interesting to see how the team responds and plays when either sit out. The Lakers are playing so well because of both playing so well and the rest can compliment them in defined roles.

They are winning with both in the game. How they fill the void when either sits out is going to be challenging IMO. Even against "bad" teams. At least this vet team should have the experience to understand they are the circled game on every teams schedule.

Lakers are back to having to take every team's best shot and overcome. Can they do that w/o either star will be the big question.

I don’t know guys Lebron said if he ain’t hurt he’s playing and heard something along the lines of AD wanting to play all the games. He said this is in the summer.

So it’s possible you don’t see load management at all.

That being said can you load management other ways like giving them rest on days of practice

I believe Lebron took 2 days off doing training camp

With Rondo coming back I think it's easier to rest one of AD/LBJ.

ideally AD and LBJ would each play around 65 games and we finish with the 3 seed

I'm assuming the clips will be a top-2 seed and that will basically mean we won't have homecourt against only one team

nobody in the west really scares me as of now except for the clips anyway

It should be like it has always been... When injured, Nothing to play for, or playoff seeding locked.

None of this sitting out when healthy BS. Through four decades we've had a pretty good track record of winning titles by playing when we should be playing. Why change things just because kawhi is doing it? And it could backfire on him this year when they get a lower seeding than they should and run into some buzzsaw team. And it's not as if we have players with degenerative muscle issues.

THIS....

If they sit up top and have like 3-5 games left and it doesn't effect their standing, have them rest...

Right now, everyone is jocking for position (this is why I think the Kawhi load management at this time is weird...) and every game counts until we see a clear picture of what position is everyone going to be in.

they should not do load management. there is no real science behind this. if anything, tweak the time around practice etc., off court stuff. players are spending way more time on that than actual game minutes. also, a team needs to use the games to get good at how they play, the plays they run, getting the feel for teammates. sitting out means you miss learning experiences, and then that will bite you in the butt in the playoffs.

Hopefully never.

Instead, sit LeBron out of some practices after Christmas. He still needs to be there to show good leadership, but maybe don't let him scrimmage, run wind sprints, etc.
