I would keep Cook over Daniels if one of them has to go. Cook has been on a championship team and has hit big shots in the Finals. I could see him having a few Fisher/Horry moments for us in the playoffs. He's already proven he won't shrink in the big moments.

Daniels is still unproven but it's tricky because AD personally called him to recruit him.

Both Cook and Daniels should go, but if I had to choose between the two, it'd be Daniels. Why? Because Daniels can fit more easily within a variety of lineups, whereas Cook is only best utilized with a tall PG/ball-handler. Cook can only guard PGs on defense, but he ideally only plays SG on offense. Cook can't be on the floor with Rondo, Collison, or any other small PG. Daniels can.

Cook was a bad signing from the very, very beginning. The Lakers always needed something more/different than what Cook could provide.

I think Cook is alot better than what many give credit for. He's just one of those players who is not a good fit for the bench lineups that he gets tossed in. If he's able to get in more minutes with Lebron + AD and a strong defending guard to he would be looking much sharper but unfortunately he's way in the back of the pecking order to take those minutes

Matt Barnes on Darren Collison potentially joining the Clippers - “I would hesitate going to the Clippers, one, because when we were there together, I don't know how well him and Doc got along. And two, with that second unit, with Darren, he's taking the ball out of Lou’s hands.”

Someone mentioned he asked to be traded while on the pacers with Vogel. True?

I think he lost his starting job while injured and couldn't get it back, which led to a trade. I don't think there's been any reports with friction with the coach.

In comparison Doc Rivers led one of the most toxic teams when Collison was at the Clippers

Collision waiting until after the trade deadline makes a lot of sense for several reasons, the primary one being that the Lakers’ DPE doesn’t pro rate, so he gets the same amount of money and doesn’t have to play as many games.

Dude should get the starting job here. Forget a bench role. I assume Daniels is getting cut.

McGee, Dwight, Cousins
AD, Kuzma, Dudley
LeBron, KCP, Horton-Tucker
Green, Bradley, Cook
Collison, Caruso, Rondo

If somehow Iggy gets added to that roster, you now have a bench full of versatile defenders

Just heard the Matt Barnes take as well.
But if DC really had any issues with either coaches, why would they be his choices?

Ring hunting

Also I'm not sure he has problems with Vogel. He just couldn't get back ahead of George Hill

Collison is a SoCal (Inland Empire) boy. Those teams are closest to home and legit title contenders

if we hear any zlitch of talk on Rondo being involved in trades or him being cut then you know DC is Lakers bound.

Yea. UCLA boy.
I just mean, he wouldn't choose both teams if he had problems with the coaches.

If he wants to get paid he needs to go where he will get the most PT.

Looking at it with Lakers glasses on there's quite a few reasons he would pick us.

We got two players he has publicly mentioned as being who he respected most while the Clippers have none

We can offer more money and a bigger role.

Don't know how true it is but Matt Barnes dropped a hint he might not have gotten along with Doc so well.

Obviously as we all know anything can happen until it's final but it looks good for us. We still wouldn't have a perfect roster but it would cover a good amount of holes instantly without moving anyone. Massive addition if he can hold up that 40+ 3 point percentage as well.

Collison played with the Clippers when Dudley was there … heh

“The Clippers of 2013/14 season were the most toxic team where I played. It was a strange, bipolar team: we were attractive off the pitch, but not on the parquet.”

Can't have good memories of the Clippers

Not right off the bat. He hasn't been playing and won't be in basketball shape for at least one month. I actually like Bradley/Green as the starting backcourt with Lebron. DC can be the first guard off the bench when Lebron takes his usual rest around the 3 or 4 min mark of the 1st quarter.

He’s been out much less than Melo has and Melo started right away.

Svi shooting 42% from threes for the Pistons. Legit volume too, 47-110.

I wonder what he would have shot here with limited minutes.

Only 17.7 minutes for the Pistons. So he's showing he's got it. He'll probably be a dependable vet down the line.
