Don't forget the stupid comment by SAS saying he had heard from a friend of a mother's uncle's cousin that Kawhi said: "Tell LeBron to stop being scared to guard me."
That's like Rob Parker idiot talk right there.
PS: why a new thread?

Guess is his "source" for this are the Clippers. |

This is kind of weird.
I wouldn’t call the Lakers soft. Especially with that interior defense and their ability to deter a lot of shots.
Seems more like a shot at mentality. Meaning teams can neutralize LBJ and AD to where they settle for shots or don’t attack.
Like Lebron and AD (2 of top 5) can get bothered and that’s how the clippers have been successful in the 2 matchups. Bucks and Pacers bothered Lebron too.
It’s perceived as soft because no one else can create. I guess if they mean you can get in Lebron and AD’s head then yeah a little bit and everything falls apart because the rest of the team is role players. |

Ok, I don't care if it's a lie, this should only encourage the team even more. |

He probably got one or two clippers to make a comment and then it becomes "players around the league".
I thought the Kobe/Pau team that lost to the smeltics was soft. I haven't gotten that feeling with this team. This is just some trash talk. No truth to it. |

I doubt that any team fears the Lakers, or any other NBA team. No team is dominant so far. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Think so too. Especially at the end of that segment when SAS mentions his source on Kawhi, so it sounded like it came from Clippers or Kawhi’s camp. _________________ Tacos |

I wouldnt go that far. But I thought this topic could be contained in the Lakers-Clippers thread quite nicely. Cuz it is an interesting topic.
The 2008 Lakers team was considered soft... but mainly after losing to the Celtics. The things is
1. I don't see a Celtics type team in the league
2. The league is a bit different now. Doesn't allow the same type of physicality, even in the playoffs imo |

For being able to "go at them", the Lakers are currently 30-7. _________________

So his source was from a guy who misses every other game during his prime? But I do agree this though, someone on the laker team should take out pat Beverly next time they play. |

Stop consistently losing double-digit leads. Win against top-tier teams. Do these 2 things and all this BS talk won't matter. _________________ God is a Lakers fan........usually. |

SAS is a Knicks guy, so his source could also be Bobby Portis _________________

Rondo is fearless. I give him crap all the time for his play, but Rondo ain't soft. Him standing up for his teammates against even bigger guys, props to him! _________________ |

He is right in one regard...who wouldn’t want more doggs on this team protecting our stars and our yard. And please don’t use Dudz as an example.
Once/if Boog comes back, we have more bite. But as of right now, Dwight & Rondo are probably the only one’s willing to scrap and that are getting relevant minutes. We need more doggs for the the real season! I’m sure the entire fan base wound welcome it too. |

Based on some of the flagrent fouls committed by the hapless Knicks, I'd say a few of those comments came from that team.
Regardling the Clippers, I'm sure that franchise is angry about not being respected in Los Angeles as much as the Lakers, and they are frustrated that, despite their dominance over the Lakers, the LA public has not and will not embrace them. I don't believe that will ever change.
It's too bad that the two LA teams can't be on friendly terms. There is no battle for Los Angeles; this is a Laker town, and the Clipps should just accept that and stop constantly trying to pick fights with the Lakers. |

This is perhaps the main reason why I want to keep Rondo on this team. Yes, he's not as proficient as he used to be, but he's the only Laker that shows that attitude that we need. Lebron may bark at the reffs alot, but Lebron has never been a brawler, and will cower down when too much pressure is put on him. AD is mellow; not a fighter. Most of our other players are pretty much the same way.
So yeah, the Lakers are fairly soft, but they are effective. So, doesn't matter during regular season. McGee (maybe), Dwight, and Rondo are the only players that will scrap, if necessary, and we need that edge come playoffs. |

My first thought. Somali Pirate craves the attention, but he’s scared to say this publicly because Kawhi will get his ass traded to the Atlanta Hawks. |
