This game was a lot different than game 1 agains POR. That game was a fluke shooting night, this was getting exposed. Hoping for a better showing on Sunday

Rondo 22 minutes??? WTF Vogel!
Next game:

McGee out of rotation. He is useless against Rockets.
Rondo out of rotation.
Put Kuz or Morris in starting five.
Play Caruso more minutes.

We actually played them very tight with 2-big lineups. They do not penetrate with two bigs on the floor.

What killed us was the Rondo minutes. Just what in the actual (bleep)?

I hear ya pj but we know Vogels affection for Rondo - refuses to see what we see

Hopefully next game we are allowed to play defense

I couldn’t tell if they were even trying to. Even with all of the frenetic trapping and doubling on the perimeter, the Lakers gave up an absolutely wide open 3 or lane to the basket every time.

I still think they should just pack the paint. After the first quarter, the Rockets were somewhere around 20% on wide open threes. There is no need to guard those shots.

This is what killed us:

No ball movement
Crappy defense
Not utilizing the Lakers size
Rondo
Kuzma
Green
McGee

Did Luke have the same affection? Rondo must be intimidating and they are forced to play him. That’s the only explanation.

The one player I am very disappointed with is Kyle Kuzma. I am finding that this guy just doesn't have much in the way of basketball skill. And Vogel isn't exactly coaching effectively. AD needs to play low and dominate the key. Doc Rivers uses his centers much more effectively than Vogel does. Doc is a much better coach than Vogel.

After watching the Heat, the Celtics and the Clippers, I'm confident that there is NO possible way we can win it all. This current Lakers team just isn't good enough. At this point, I'd rather lose to the Rockets than suffer the humiliation of being swept by the Clippers next round.

Kuzma sucks and has been so overrated on this forum. Super low IQ.

Yeah, if you are disappointed with Kuzma then you must not watch much basketball. He was never that good. Average bench player at best

Same scenario as round 1.

Lose game 2, they are done. Win and probably move on, but I hate this matchup. AB would be great to disrupt Harden but no excuses.

Hot take: Clippers v. Heat finals looks inevitable

We needed Jimmy Buckets tonight.

Funny thing is I thought we had a legitimate shot at Jimmy this past summer but you can blame Dwayne Wade for kissing his ass to join the Heat.

I think Pat Riley and Arison promised DWade some front office position or maybe President once Riles retires.

Exposed how? This lost was based on effort, play style (shooting too many threes) and rotations. The turnovers especially kept us from never seeing a lead or sustaining momentum. We saw that a lot in the 3rd. We held Houston off long enough. You can’t keep turning the ball over and expect to keep it close.

Our superstars need to realise the fact that our supporting class just sucks, you cant expect them to give you consistent output every game so you just have to play like theres no tomorrow every game. Basically they will have to will the team to W.

As crazy as it sounds, our only shot is to get Kuz going. Vogel need to clamp down the rotations and find some way to get him hot.

I hate to say it, but I dont see how this team beat the Clippers next round even we are good enough to get pass Rockets.

Post up lebron more, and AD needs to catch the ball deeper. If they double, our shooters need to make them pay, otherwise we can’t win this anyways. The way we played tonight was basically shooting 3s

Slow pace
Passive Lebron and AD

If your teammates are struggling, AD and LBJ need to carry the team and take over.

Much tougher to beat a ultra small ball lineup that constantly gets away way with sissy defense with under the radar holding on our bigs mainly AD and double teams without the ball in a iso man to man /zone robber set.

Lots of illegal defense not being called.

Sure we can still make this a series but just annoyed that we wasted a game where Lebron poster dunk on Westbrook

I’m actually blaming this loss on the announcers. Just like in the good old days when we had Sunderland

A good adjustment would be whenever lebron or AD catches the ball in the post, everyone else starts to yell 3 seconds, houston is doing a lot of that

Disappointing!

Out worked and outplayed. Rockets showed the Lakers what desire for a win looks like. Hope they were watching.

I’d much rather they play like trash and lose the game than played a good game and still lost.

AD once again has to be more aggressive on both ends. LeBron had a poster on Russ, two chase down blocks... where was AD? I only noticed him on that put back and the foul late. I don’t get him.
