One of the greatest pitcher in the history of the game, perhaps only second to Koufax in the pitching-dominant 60s.

Tough news. I figured he would struggle to see 2021 with the terrible disease he had and the late stage of the disease upon diagnosis. A true legend. RIP.

I never saw a pitcher work as fast as Gibson. He wouldn't pause between pitches, which kept batters off-balance. As Vin Scully once said, "Gibson pitches as if he's double parked."

Gipson's fast ball clocked at 96mph. RIP Bullet Bob

Rough day and year for the Cards, losing two HOFers and blowing the wild card series.

This is what sucks about getting old, you lose your heroes. I still remember being at Busch stadium in 1967, watching Gibby, Brock, Maris and the rest of the team. We have lost one of the great owners in Augie Busch, a great base runner in Lou and now the most dominant pitcher in Gibby. Waino has probably pitched his last game and Yadi is soon for the HOF. This pandemic has detached me from sports, I still like discussing them with my friends but realize that sitting and watching them is wasting my time. Today’s athletes and sports associations have become uninteresting. Except football, scheme and strategy still matter.

Didn't post in here at the time, but RIP Bob Gibson. Watching a lot of Cardinals baseball over the year, the pitchers would always rave about Bob Gibson and how he'd work with pitchers over the years. Guys like Chris Carpenter, Adam Wainwright, and Jack Flaherty have all talked about how accessible and excited he was to talk pitching.

By all accounts a really great guy. Another great one, Lou Brock, passed away this year also. Its been a difficult year for sure.
