ok fine, I used to be Greco's in Pasadena but they broke my heart and decided to close. Couldn't find another place in LA that I like better since then.

I know Ross Greco personally. My girlfriend's father is his attorney

I actually was introduced to her parents - for the first time ever - at that place. That place will always hold a special place in my memory

ok ok. we gotta talk man. do you know what happened to greco's?! why did it close and do you know if they relocated somewhere else? Two years ago I tried to take my girl there for our anniversary, found out it closed and ruined our day.

It closed down because of lack of buisness coming through; probably due to the hidden or "tucked away" location. He didn't relocate and we don't know if he'll ever try opening another restaraunt. My girlfriend said it was like his second or third attempt unfortunately... who knows if he'll ever open it again.

My girlfriend will find out for you though - and we'll probably send this to him; it'll make his day

thanks a lot man. Appreciate the info. it gave me a bit of closure since there was no explanation as to why they closed all of a sudden. Hopefully he gives it another shot.

The location is fabulous, but the good is just "good," not "great." You can go just down the road and get a lot better food.

Is it Versailles? When you said Garlic Chicken, that's the first place that popped in my head when I read this. Great food BTW.

Here's a link.

Yeah, that's gotta be Versailles.

I love that garlic chicken - some days are better than others - depends on that garlic juice comes out and how much is on there. I try to eat there a few times a month.

Have you been to the new one they opened behind the original one? Some of my favorites are Shabu Shabu house in Little Tokyo, Bosanova in Beverly Hills, Sushi Sasabune in West LA, and Pinks of course

Ya I agree Ive had the brunch there and its really good but it seems as though the food doesn't live up to the location.

Anyways the best thing about that place is sitting outside in the bar area and getting cocktails with some nachos or something ... good enough for me!

Best brunch in OC is Taps in Brea (in my humble opinion).

They're somewhat pricey, but not outrageous. Sunday brunch is $31.95, and it's worth it. Here's their web site:

BTW, my second favorite brunch place (and favorite breakfast place overall) is Ramos House Cafe, in old town San Juan Capistrano:

(Their brunch isn't buffet-style.)

I don't know if Chinatown counts as L.A., but I like Sam Woo. BBQ, and pretty much any Korean BBQ or Sushi place in L.A.

I'm going to Zip Fusion tomorrow before the game. That place is pretty unique. I like it.

Anyone have any more recommendations in the San Gabriel Valley area?

My usual places are the usual ones near that area. Ajisan Ramen. Tasty Garden. Places by Del Mar.

For seafood, the only place non-asian and half decent seems to be McCormick's in Pasadena.

Roscoe's, I can have only so much of.

Anyone know of a really good thai food place near around my area?

do you like Sushi? If so, there's this place called gen, or gin sushi... it's on Rosemead and Colorado. It's really good and really inexpensive.
