Damn I thought Justin had a puncher's chance and Khabib looked like he was trembling at the weigh in. I thought Khabib's weight cut drained him bad...

Dana White says Khabib was fighting with a broken foot. Apparently, he broke it 3 weeks ago.

Me too. Wasn’t expecting Justin’s jits to be that bad either haha.

He did land some monster kicks though 😁

JB some have compared his performance to the Kobe 81 game and tbh I’m almost there with them.

I think if had also finished kattar I’d be in agreement with that statement

Fight could have been stopped at any point in rounds 4 and 5.

The Diamond did great! Calf kicks to take out Conor being heavy on that lead leg

My heart was with Conor. Love him or hate him, he's the standard bearer for the sport for casuals. This should have been even money at best. I loathe to say it but Conor f'en pissed away his prime. Dude, you were effectively out of the game except for a few forays back in between 28-32. THAT'S your athletic prime.

Watching the fight, I still thought Conor was going to find that left. The one thing that stood out to me and what gave me concern was this. Dustin looked JUST as quick as Conor. So if it came to a firefight in a phone booth...I knew Dustin was going to give it to him. Dustin's been in those fire fights. It's not pretty. But boy oh boy if he gets you on your heels.

Damn. The magic carpet ride is over...

Not how i saw the fight going at all, but i haven't watched much of Dustin at all (other than the Gaethje fight). McGregor should retire. This fight was a barometer for whether he belonged back at the championship level, and he obviously does not anymore.

A legend
One every new fighter strives to be
Make money
Sell fights
Win titles
Be the main event every time
Be the highest paid guy ever in the sport

Went over to box the greatest boxer

He’s got nothing to prove

But I do think “nice nature” Conor doesn’t have that mental edge.

Think about it this version of Conor fought Aldo, Alvarez etc
He wouldn’t get in their head.

He needs to get back to getting in guys head

Then again. He is at a certain point in his life that maybe being a better human is greater than being a great fighter

I agree with some comments On YT. Watching Conors rise was like nothing else. He’s a legend. It may be over for him, being the elite fighter. But he does have 3-4 more main events left in him. He needs to be smarter about how he picks his team. You have to evolve.

Khabib is the GOAT in his division and the better fighter but this is not just about sports. It’s about selling tickets drawing buys. No one touches Conor, in this regard. He’s been the UFCs GOAT in this regard.

Dana looked depressed post fight ... this killed chances at Khabib Conor 2 which was the biggest fight he was angling for $$$ wise.

My guess they go with Poirer vs Chandler for the title Khabib vacates
Conor vs Gaethje

Winner vs winner

If Conor loses to Gaethje I think he is probably done.

Yup. 100% it. That’s pretty much what Conor said immediately after the fight too. He’s been away from the game too long.

He’s behind the curve on tactics AND on the downside of his athleticism. Bad combo going forward. Dana will have to be selective with his opponents. Conor Diaz 3 makes the most sense now
