shaq unfortunately burned his bridges with the laker ownership---and his smack talk last year about kobe not winning anything without him was over the top.
had he not allowed his ego to get in the way of basketball after the 2003-2004 season he would have lost 40 lbs and stayed in los angeles and he and kobe would have a few more rings now |

I don't hate Shaq, but I disagree because he's past his prime. Maybe Shaq of yore is needed, or his equivalent... i.e. Dwight Howard, probably my favorite (non-Laker) big man in the league right now.

If we do somehow bring Shaq back next season it will be if we DO win it all this year, not if we don't...
No way Kobe, DR Buss or anyone else in upper management would have Shaq come back to play with Kobe having one more ring than Kobe.
Not a chance.
Either way it's not happening.
1% chance Shaq's a Laker next season if we win it all this year.
0% chance he's a Laker next year if we don't win it all this year. _________________ 16 and counting.... |

Change your options. You option, "No - I still hate Shaq and am concerned for Kobe's image" is phrased in such a way that dissuades posters from picking that option.
Kobe's image and hatred of Shaq do not occur simultaneously. |

A veteran like Shaq with 4 championships would not allow this crap to be happening.
Im a Laker fan first, I could careless about what bad people got to say about Kobe. Even at this point, in Shaq's declining career, he would be a great asset to the Lakers.
The front office needs to do whatever they can to bring him back to L.A. this summer if we dont win a championship
Anyone else agree?
If we could sign Shaq in 2010 (when his contract expires).
Or if we could trade Bynum and a few other players, as long as we keep Gasol, Kobe and Odom, would you make that move?
Im sure they'd want Bynum, Ariza, and Brown. |
I hate name calling, but the statement takes stupid to a whole new level. |

Kobe will win at least 3 more title before his career is over. No need for Shaq and his bull. |

The choices don't really give one an option to click on anything.

No. Shaq already announced that he wants to play 3 more years. Probably to move up to number 2 or 3 in all-time scoring. No way we let him gray train another tile or multiple rings by coming back. I don't hate him or dislike him but that era is over. _________________ "A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste" - United Negro College Fund 1972 |

Is there some world where players don't age that I'm missing?
If there is, then Kobe needs Cap more than he needs Shaq,
If there isn't, then someone hasn't seen Shaq play the last few years. |

Nope! Shaq had his time with the Lakers and obviously he has moved on. Besides...it would just add more drama to the team with both him and Kobe fighting over who's the main man in the barrio.
We needed someone like Shaq to win another Championship and that's why Gasol is here! |

Where have you guys been the last 2 years?
Shaq's begging to rejoin the Lakers and Kobe's on the verge of getting his first ring without Shaq. Life is good.
I'd love to have Shaq back at the vets minimum so he can ride Kobe to a couple more championships. _________________ Before Lamar trade: Lakers-57 wins (2011)
