They did. No NBA teams went to the Long Beach SPL last year. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |

I believe the Lakers were the last team to leave.
Can't really make too many decisions based on play against a bunch of teams of guys who couldn't even get drafted and the Mavs SPL C team. They had to go where the competition is. |

Pro teams can play in multiple summer leagues, though the incentive for the Lakers to field more than one summer league team is probably non-existent this year. I'm sure they'll send scouts to take a look at undrafted players like Roby, who missed workouts due to a broken bone in his shooting hand.
I'm not sure the Summer Pro League is even a going-concern. The list of pro teams kept whithering down, to the point of zero last season. That may have been the death sentence, as the web site is now down. |

I miss the old school SPL days at the Long Beach Pyramid. _________________ "Love me or hate me; it's one or the other. Always has been. Hate my game, my swagger. Hate my fadeaway, my hunger. Is anyone planning to head out to Vegas to go to the SPL? If so, shameless plug for my company. If you need rooms in Vegas, we offer a great condo-style resort not far from the Thomas & Mack Center & Cox Pavilion. It's Desert Rose Resort, which is off the strip next to the MGM Grand and Hooter's Hotel and Casino. If anyone needs rooms for those dates, PM me. I'll see if I could build an exclusive rate of at least 25% off just for LG members! www.desertroseresort.com _________________ I Don't Give A Damn About My Bad Reputation.... Joan Jett |

dallas' 2nd tier team was here in the LB last year. or wait, that was the year prior. you're right. only the lakers were here last summer.
the cold thing about it, is that the website finally got updated after all these years like 2 summers ago. and it was by one of our own lgers, i forgot his name. |
