OK, so I just read a magazine article that ranked the top 25 Sci-fi shows... here are the top 6:

Quote:
6. Lost
5. Battlestar Galactica
4. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
3. Star Trek: The Next Generation
2. The Twilight Zone
1. Doctor Who

Here are my rankings and reasoning:
4. Mystery Science Theater 3000 - One of the funniest shows ever... awful sci-fi movies shown with biting commentary from robot puppets.
3. Battlestar Galactica (2004+) - Incredible serial with biting commentary about our world. Plus, the female cylons and Starbuck are hot.
2. X-Files - The mythology sort of sucked post-Mulder, but the stand-alone episodes were still pretty incredible.
1. Lost - This hinges on whether or not the payoff at the end of next season matches or surpasses the build up. I expect that it will. Incredible writing and spectacular characters.

Honorable mention - Carnivale... incredible show. Too bad it didn't last more than two seasons.
