It's time for an update. Where does this one put him at for his career.
Anyone else think that might be one of the most incredible shots ever for Kobe?

I feel Fisher's three is being overlooked. Kobe is Jesus, but I gotta show Fish some love too.

If it was a Finals Game, it will be one of the best shots ever, in a regular season game is a fantastic shot. Just one more.

Playoffs or Finals would definitely add a lot to it's significance but in terms of difficulty, I think this buzzer beater would rank up near the top as best ever.

It was an amazing shot, no doubt about it. It was a lucky shot, though, the fact that it actually went in. What really impressed me was how he got the shot off and was so dead on with it. That was all skill. He shot it just long enough to get it to bank in. It's not easy to get a shot off like that with a second left down by 2. He's definitely the guy you want with the game on the line, and because he is known for being that guy, I don't think this is one of the most incredible ones he has hit. Well, it is one of them, but there are plenty.

Off the top of my head, I'd have to rank 2000 Phoenix game 2 bigger, 2004 last win at rose garden. Those are 2 big winners. He has hit so many huge shots though, so many. His biggest, in my opinion, was 2004 Finals game 2 vs. Detroit. Game 3 last year in Denver 3 pointer was probably number 2.

The last second shot @ Portland in OT against the Kobe stopper was the best still.

I ranked Kobe's shot over Wade 3rd, behind his Portland shot and the playoff game against Phoenix

Good call. I was also reminded of that one... and don't forget the shot at the end of regulation in that game as well!!

Feels good, man

It's the first buzzer-beater, but not game-winning shot. The dry spell has ended.

Kobe's had game winners since, the 3 seconds left on the clock variety.

Like Wade would have had, if Kobe didn't dump on him.

Kobe's walk-off game-winners where the Lakers would have lost have been remarkable.

@POR 2OT, Game 4 vs. PHX, tonight.

Didn't he hit one on the Pacers last year? Where he posted up at the free throw line with the game tied and nailed a turnaround jumper?

That wasn't a buzzer beater, there was still time on the clock. I think this i his first buzzer beater since the Suns Playoff series.

No Indiana got the ball after that and Jeff Foster couldn't get a shot off.

Bryant had the Seattle Game Winner over Jeff Green, and the Indiana Game Winner over Jarrett Jack.

4.2 and 3.0 seconds remaining on the clock, respectively. This is the first time where the other team hasn't gotten the ball back.

That's the reason I made my thread about him never being put in a good position for buzzer beaters. I mean even the Phoenix Suns one was off a jump ball and the Suns were scrambling back on D so Kobe was able to make his move and shoot a type of shot he usually nails (over two Suns defenders). Kobe always catches the ball firstly with his momentum going the wrong way, and secondly way behind the three point line. And we only needed a two for OT there! It's a valid issue that everyone would bring up had he missed the shot, but this time Kobe's brilliance was able to finally make a great shot out of one of those.

So, it's not an issue. He made it.

Nah, it's only non-issue because we blow most teams out anyway nowadays. The fact that he made it is credit to his greatness and ability to make something out of nothing but doesn't change the fact that it was a bad inbounds play for him as usual. You're not going to see another buzzer beater for as long as the gap has been between the last two if he keeps having to hoist up prayers like that. Of course we're only talking buzzer beaters, he does hit last minute go-ahead shots on a regular basis.

I can see Supa's point. Whenever Kobe doesn't hit that shot, a lot of us grouse that they don't seem to run better plays than "1 on 5" ball with Kobe out there. If you watch what Denver does, Melo usually does get at least a screen.

Maybe PJ does make it harder, not creating a play to get him a good look. They have a Kobe decoy for Fish play, that's for sure. We've seen it before. Whatever it is, they put it on his shoulders to break the double team, and win the game, so there ya go.

Pau couldn't even set up a good screen for Kobe when he asked for one late, and he's the best at that. Who knows what the hell happened.
