The Lakers become very beatable if this trade goes down. Kobe's defense against Rondo isn't any different than what other teams play, but for some odd reason, Kobe gets praised for it. It's not Kobe that makes his "I'm going to dare you to shoot a jumper" defense so effective. It's Pau and Bynum guarding the hoop that makes Rondo tentative to drive to the hole. If they put Dwight in there, KG can just hang out by the baseline to draw him out, thus clearing a path for Rondo. I'm pretty damn sure Antawn Jamison/Al Harrington aren't coming in to block/alter Rondo's shot.
I'm hoping it goes through today, before Kobe has a chance to realize that they're getting swindled and kills the trade.
That has to be before it was revealed we kept Pau.
I will say this, scoping out Sixers forums and affiliate Philly news sites, their fans are ecstatic. Truthfully speaking, they got better then what they could have ever wished for Igoudalla and his $15 million contract, although it is expiring, so is Drew's. Andrew adds a legit big man in an Eastern conference where he is clearly the best center in the conference. He's also their best all around center since Moses Malone, and Andrew's only 25.
If Bynum signs long term, they win, if he doesn't, that's $16+ million in freed up cap space.
Philly comes out better in this deal either way.
Great move for them. _________________ I miss you Kobe. I miss you Gigi.

Agreed. Unsung among all the Laker hoopla is that the Sixers are a major threat in the East now. Bynum is going to go nuts on their team to prove something.
He thought his team would have Howard. He doesn't even want Bynum.
Now, HOU has neither.
Believe you me, that Rockets homer will have an excuse in his pocket. He'll have 38 posts to add to that excuse to top it off. "Well, Howard is good, but..." - "Yeah, Nash was a great PG..but" - "Kobe, he's good, but..." and so on and so forth and so on. _________________ I miss you Kobe. I miss you Gigi.

No doubt about it.
Personally, I'm a little tickled that they're gonna walk out of this offseason paying Jeremy Lin & Omer Asik a combined $50M over the next 3 years.
One thing that helped us a lot last year was that the Lakers didn't have a PG and Bynum refused to play defense against us. I remember our bigs had no problem scoring inside. Millsap went in for easy layup after easy layup. We also pounded them on the glass. Not anymore...
We no longer have an advantage against them at the point and Howard is going to own Jefferson down low, shut down Millsap, eat Kanter, and basically neutralize Favor's athletic ability. That frontline of Bynum, Gasol, Hill, and Jamison is big and talented.
this Lakers team is probably the most loaded team since the 04 one. Unfortunately, Howard is much younger than Malone or Payton...
I think it's pretty safe to say that we're going to see Miami vs LA in the finals.

How is it possible that teams trade their best players to these large makerts. Its really unbelievable how this always is the case. Then they (bleep) and moan how unfair it is.

And a good friend of mines who resides in NY and happens to be a life long Knicks fan felt the same way when I spoke to him today. Despite ramblings about the Knicks decision to trade Lin, he feels like his "potential" isn't worth the salary. This puts the Knicks in a much better position to possibly pick up CP3 and Kevin Love if all their chips fall into place. _________________ I miss you Kobe. I miss you Gigi.

Lin is good, but not that good to capture all the Chinese market.
It doesn't matter the ethnicity. People only pay to see the best.

Yao was that guy, Houston got themselves a pretty solid replacement. Maybe not as big as Yao in terms of attraction, but good. _________________ I miss you Kobe. I miss you Gigi.
