Maybe. Or maybe not. That is why the Lakers wouldn't foreclose on Butler being a possible FA (and nothing precludes him from hitting FA in 2019 since an extension now would mean he loses out on $).
But folks are treating this as if it's 2016, 2017, or 2018 summer, and that we can just "punt" a max in perpetuity while LBJ's biological championship clock dwindles down. This is effectively the last summer we will have a max slot and they're going to spend it. Would you rather spend 32m on Butler or Kemba/Boogie? |

I mean what is this thread about? We have a shot at KD or Klay, with Lebron already in place. Heck, I still think KL is also an option. The Clippers need to sign both Butler and Kawhi, and Butler isn't even in the same class as any of the guys I've mentioned.

There's something therapeutic about (bleep) and moaning.
I blame sports media and social media. They more happy to see the Lakers hit a potential roadblock in our ascent than the Clippers becoming relevant again. That, then resonates with all sports fans. If you ignore the haters and stay optimistic, things will be alright.

I sure hope he is. I absolutely believe that he can, especially with Hart having a better three point shot than Butler already. They both were selected with the 30th pick in their respective drafts, so it's not unrealistic that Hart can be better than Butler in a couple of years. |

I'm torn because I want Leonard BIG-TIME!!! I rebuke Butler in every way! LeBron is outstanding. I would rather have LeBron but Leonard by himself and his age I would consider over LBJ before LBJ signed but now...LBJ and no Butler. I'll take Kawhi, AD, KD, or Klay as the 2nd star as a preference.
