frustrations is starting to mount, LeBron had no business playing in this game but still did because he’s going for the stats, LeBron should have lead us to a win against the worst team in the West if we were gonna decide to get plummeted by the good teams

Would this roster have done better or worse than this season's?

The trade was Kuzma and Trez for Hield. So no Trez

KCP was still under contract so we would’ve traded him for an expiring or nothing?

THT still probably gets resigned.

True, so it'd look like this

Starters:
Dennis Schroeder
Buddy Hield
LeBron James
Anthony Davis
Andre Drummond

Bench:
Alex Caruso
Malik Monk
KCP / Talen-Horton Tucker
Carmelo Anthony
Dwight Howard

And KCP would be on the team and an asset to move for another piece if we needed to(at the deadline or such). THT's role would also be allowed to grow more.

At the deadline I imagine that the Lakers likely still would have traded for Russell Westbrook. But likely would have sent out Schroeder and KCP for him. But if they didn't, this is how the roster would likely look.

But even IF they moved KCP and Schroeder for Westbrook their roster would STILL look better than it does currently.

Russell Westbrook
Buddy Hield
LeBron James
Anthony Davis
Andre Drummond

Bench:
Alex Caruso
Malik Monk

@MJST

i would’ve preferred that roster 100 percent.

We would have actual contracts to trade if needed and better spacing.

Sigh what could’ve been. Hopefully we don’t double up on our mistakes this summer

It’s a bit better team because you have defenders in KCP, Cus. But have to assume AD still goes down so we still suck. Because people can IGNORE it all they want but LBJ is simply stat chasing this season. He has ZERO INTEREST in really being a top level defender like he can be if he wants still. He has been doing more and more taking off plays during seasons to be better prepared for playoffs. And he has admitted that. So it is not a surprise occasionaly does it. But this season he has been basically snowballing on defense 60-75% of the time not just occasionally. Hard to win like that.

AD might still go down, but with Drummond playing the 5, we don't see AD get forced to be there(or asked to bulk up during the summer) and the rotation of Drummond and Dwight would mean that any minutes AD played at the 5 would be sparse, as they should be. So lesser chance of that happening. For AD it's best case scenario. No bulking up in the off-season. No being forced to be the primary center. So win-win on that front and it at least increases the chances of being able to keep him preserved and healthy.

I honestly do not think Drummond would have signed with the Lakers again. With that said, the team MJST just posted IMO would have been more competitive. With AD's injury I'm not sure if the squad would be in the top 6 in the west, but over .500 at least...and much more interesting to watch than this train wreck.

I think there was some instances were Drummond and Vogel did not see eye-to-eye because of role and how he was being used, if we get a new HC I could see the team wanting him back again

This is probably the most depressing season in a while.

I hate the play in. I would rather just not make the playoffs all together

It really doesn’t matter. This team was designed top heavy. Doesn’t matter if Westbrook came or not we still would’ve been dominated because we have no talented size. Ad being injured ruined everything. Literally. Westbrook is highlighted because he can’t even hide his regression cause all eyes on Lebron supporting cast.

Roster is BAD. In the offseason the Lakers built a roster with Dwight (old), AD (fragile) as the lone guys over 6'9". Then you had three SF disguised as PF Melo, Ariza and LBJ whom are all OLD. After that all undersized guards. Reaves was the tallest and was not expected to play. End of the offseason they added DJ (old) and Rondo (short and old). 3 players in the rotation now Reaves, Johnson & Gabriel were either not on the roster or not expected to play. Melo should NEVER be guarding centers. This is all time bad roster makeup. If they thought Russ could make up for that, even dumber.

Whomever had their hands on tis roster should be fired.

It is showing how little he is trying on defense this year.

Team is trash. If it wasn't for the play in format they wouldn't even make the playoffs. Remember that 2013 team, well that team made the playoffs under the old format even with all that dysfunction and ill fitting parts.
