What has Rick Caruso done wrong? This thread is filled with hatred.

If this thread is filled with hate for Donald Trump and you want to understand why, watch this today. I dare you. Trump and many Republicans tried to DESTROY our Democracy, and he's still doing it. He is still telling the Big Lie that the election was stolen, and he is still whipping his supporters to a violent frenzy (all the the Jan. 6th Committee members are receiving death threats from Trump supporters).

And if you want to talk about hate, start with Trump and all the people he and his cult hate (blacks, women, LGTBQ, immigrants, brown people, Democrats, liberals, doctors, scientists, educators, or literally anyone who tells the truth, etc).

Quote:
Rep. Jamie Raskin @RepRaskin

Today @January6thCmte will expose how Donald Trump tried to weaponize the Department of Justice in his desperate bid to retain power. Watch at 3pm ET as witnesses, including the former Acting Attorney General, reveal how Trump nearly made the Big Lie DOJ policy.

For those while might wonder, Babbit was part of the mob that broke the glass in the barricaded doors to the antechamber behind which members of congress were still present. The police set that point as an “Alamo”, a spot where they would have to make a stand, or else the mob would get to the congress people . When Babbit went through and was shot, the mob stopped. The shooting, to paraphrase the fictional colonel jessup, saved lives. There was no prosecution because by any standard of self defense and defense of congress that those police were charged with, it was a justified action.

Supreme Court says Second Amendment guarantees right to carry guns in public

Quote:
WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that the Constitution provides a right to carry a gun outside the home, issuing a major decision on the meaning of the Second Amendment.

The 6-3 ruling was the court’s second important decision on the right to “keep and bear arms.” In a landmark 2008 decision, the court said for the first time that the amendment safeguards a person’s right to possess firearms, although the decision was limited to keeping guns at home for self-defense.

The court has now taken that ruling to the next step after years of ducking the issue and applied the Second Amendment beyond the limits of homeowners’ property.

The 6 right-wingers on the Supreme Court are full-on violence supporting Christo-fascists. Everyone should just walk around with guns, bullying and intimidating others. Except don't do it near THEIR HOMES because they get special round the clock security. The rest of us should just go back to the wild-west when people solved disagreements with guns. No abortion rights for women, no civil rights for black people, pretty soon no marriage rights for LGTBQ people, no protecting children in their schools, or shoppers at the mall. But if you're a white Christian male you get to do whatever you want and inflict your dogma on everyone else whether they like it or not.

The majority of this country is in favor of sane gun safety laws (including gun owners)
The majority of this country want to keep Roe v Wade (including Republicans)
The majority of this country does not want right-wing Christianity jammed downed their throats via the law.

But the right wing Supreme Court and all of these horrible decisions that will result in more death is brought to you by 2016 voters who sat home, or voted for Jill Stein, or "took a chance" on Trump because they just couldn't vote for the accomplished email lady (misogyny), and Trump cultists who were just full-on white racists, or rich white Republicans who only care about tax cuts, and Mitch McConnell who stole a Supreme Court seat from Obama -- THIS IS ON YOU. Every single bit of it. The blood is on your hands.

And right-wing trolls have the nerve to wonder why we're so angry??? Really???

Yup. The only way to view Babbit as an innocent martyr is if you're on the side that thinks that mob had every right to "hang Mike Pence" and "take out Nancy Pelosi" like they were threatening to do. And the Proud Boys who were part of the mob that day have *admitted* that if they had gotten through to any Congress people or Pence that day, THEY WERE GOING TO KILL THEM. That was the plan.

They would have to smuggle them past security check points and even them many did have guns, knives, batons, tasers, zip ties, were wearing tactical gear, vests, had walkie-talkies, and turned on-site materials into weapons - flagpoles, batons, bats. They were a violent mob who was trying to breach the the inner chamber of Congress to get to members so they could KILL THEM. She was at the tip of the spear about to breach the door outside the chamber. But don't let the facts get in the way of cult fever dreams.

Here's a video of your "peaceful" "unarmed protesters" that day. Watch the whole thing then report back.

I'd be willing to bet money that oil companies will just raise prices to make up the difference and then when the holiday ends we'll just be paying that much more. Why? Because this has been tried before and that's how it always works. In the meantime, we won't be getting that tax revenue which is supposed to support our infrastructure, so either we'll have more deficit spending or things won't get done. Even Obama called it a gimmick in 2008.

Quote:
“Gas prices had been skyrocketing” and “nothing got voters in a bad mood like high gas prices,” he wrote.

The eventual Republican presidential nominee that year, Sen. John McCain of Arizona, proposed a temporary suspension of the federal gas tax — just as Biden now is doing — and “Hillary immediately endorsed the idea,” Obama wrote.

When Obama’s campaign team asked him what he wanted to say on the issue, “I told them I was against it,” he wrote.

“While it had some superficial appeal, I knew it would drain an already depleted federal highway fund, leading to fewer infrastructure projects and jobs,” the former president wrote.

“Based on my experience as an Illinois state senator, where I’d once voted for a similar proposal, I was sure that consumers wouldn’t see much benefit. In fact, gas station owners were just as likely to keep gas prices high and boost their own profits as they were to pass the three-cents-a-gallon savings on to motorists.”

[...]

“The easiest thing in the world for a politician to do is tell you exactly what you want to hear,” Obama said at the time, calling the gas tax holiday a “gimmick.”

[...]

In April, Pelosi called the holiday idea “good PR,” but added, “There’s no guarantee that the saving, the reduction in the federal tax, would be passed on to the consumer.”

A month earlier, Pelosi call the idea “very showbiz.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Tells Reporter To ‘Go Back To Your Country’

Quote:
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) boasted Wednesday that she told a reporter to “go back to your country” after being asked about the disparity in gun violence between the U.S. and the U.K.

“We don’t have guns in the U.K., that is true, but we don’t have mass shootings either,” a woman, whose identity was unclear, asked Greene at a press conference, according to a clip the congresswoman posted to Twitter. “Children aren’t scared to go to school.”

Greene, flanked by other pro-gun House Republicans, including Reps. Lauren Boebert (Colo.) Thomas Massie (Ky.) and Andrew Clyde (Ga.), replied: “You have mass stabbings, lady. You have all kinds of murder and you’ve got laws against that.”

“Nothing like the same rates here,” the reporter replied.

“Well, you can go back to your country and worry about your no guns. We like ours here,” Greene said.

Yes, Capitol Rioters Were Armed. Here Are The Weapons Prosecutors Say They Used

Babbit was unarmed, but as has been pointed out by several here, she was violently attempting to break into the chamber after being warned that security was armed. She was an aggressor in an angry mob that had made their intent to cause physical harm to those within the chamber. To even attempt to argue that lethal force was excessive is sheer lunacy.

Also, several members were seen with guns. Eric Munchel being one them, and he also had zip ties with the obvious intent to kidnap/detain members in the Capitol.

Steve, would Ashli be alive today if Trump didn't tell her to go down to the capitol and fight like hell to protect her democracy? Just checking.

If you say yes then you have to find trump is the murderer

I think there should have been 100s of dead Americans that day
Any sponsor or organizer should receive no less than life without the possibility of parole
Zero Antifa there BTW
Nobody should have made it as far as Ashli before they were shot in the heads like the zombies they were that day

Poor Ashli... Followed trump's orders and lost her life for it
Follow a criminal conman and these are the results

Also, did Ashli's presence in any way assist with violently beating the police who had their guns taken away by trump

Trump should be charged with every death connected with the insurrection

Nice to have a Supreme Court of unqualified nutjobs

Biden should arrest Thomas for his vote to protect his Insurrectionist Wife
and not allow a criminal court to make decisions until the criminal is removed

Any decisions made after Thomas's No vote are illegal and cannot be accepted
He must step down or face criminal prosecution for his No vote

This is what Trump told his DOJ: "Just say the election was corrupt and leave the rest to me and the Republican congressmen."

Then the committee played video clips of various congressional traitors pushing Trump's big lie -- including Marjorie Taylor Greene, Louie Gohmert, Matt Gaetz, Paul Gosar, Mo Brooks, etc.

The panel is naming it's co-workers on Team Coup.

And just to be clear: THIS IS TRUMP GIVING A DIRECT ORDER THAT TIES HIM TO THE COUP. This is the Mafia Don giving the direct order for the crime.
