How can one believe any “statement” about their “position” on racism when a member of their Executive Committee is the Prime Example of Racism

NBAPA demanded action on Robert Sarver

NBAPA is SILENT on one of its own

NBAPA’s Executive Committee (that still includes Kyrie)
https://nbpa.com/leadership

NBAPA’s Statement on Their Position on Racism
https://nbpa.com/news/nbpa-statement-1112022

Kyrie’s Many Provided Opportunities
Kyrie’s Many Decisions to Flaunt His Arrognance
https://global.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/34948105/inside-high-wire-decision-suspend-brooklyn-nets-star-kyrie-irving

Note:
Kyrie’s has the right to say/do stupid things
If one is condemning people from Trump to Sarver, but not Kyrie - the Double Standard is clear
If one is saying that Trump and Sarver are arrogant, but not Kyrie - the Double Standard is clear

Conclusion
Kyrie has exposed the Double Standard when their worst fears are clearly/repeatedly displayed by one of their own.
How can anybody believe anything the NBAPA say when a member of their Executive Committee is clearly representing what they seemingly don’t represent
Kyrie’s $500,000 is his attempt to buy forgiveness since this amount is NOTHING to somebody of his wealth. His “repentance” financial cost should start at $100M that could be a little dent in his finances

KD wanted the glory/love of being the Driver of the Nets’ Bus, but not the responsibility. Getting past this fiasco/debacle is just sweeping the dirt underneath the carpet. Where is the leadership

Maybe the solution will be when Kyrie is out of the league. KD, at 34 years old, will soon be out

Given NBA’s many shining new stars, the departures of KD and Kyrie will be lamented but not missed. NBA will actually be in far better shape

NBPA President CJ McCollum Comments on Kyrie Irving Situation
https://apple.news/AQSJKlnogQtmgcXUu1hPq5g

“McCollum called the situation involving Irving a “learning experience” for all players around the league and pointed to the importance of Irving’s taking a step in the right direction by apologizing.”

He’s displayed empathy now. I think this is a learning experience in which I don’t think he understood the magnitude of the movie. … I don’t think he understood the magnitude of the people that were affected, how they were impacted and how fast hate can spread and how this can snowball.”
In the apology posted to Instagram, Irving wrote that the film he tweeted a link to–Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America–contained “some false anti-Semitic statements, narratives, and language that were untrue and offensive to the Jewish Race/Religion.” He added that he takes “full accountability and responsibly [sic] for [his] actions,” and that he “wants to move forward by having an open dialogue to learn more and grow from this.”

Among the tasks he must complete is giving a verbal apology to the media for sharing the film, completing sensitivity training under the direction of the team and meeting with Jewish leaders in the Brooklyn community before meeting with Nets owner Joe Tsai.

Anybody really believe that he will clearly state that he is sorry - lmao

If NBA players are accusing the owners of standing together, the NBAPA has the exact same fault, hence destroying their credibility in the positions that they state they have

""The owners are greedy," Julius Erving told TMZ Sports at LAX over the weekend. "He's going to end up in the league playing for somebody, no matter how toxic he is."

"As long as he's young enough to score those buckets, and do what he does, be Kyrie, he's going have a job," he said."

“Irving was given a list of items that he needed to satisfy in order to return to the court for the Nets franchise, which suspended him “at least five games” earlier this month. Brown, who is vice president of the National Basketball Players Association, told reporters on Tuesday that he believes the union will appeal the suspension handed down by the Nets because “a lot of the players expressed discomfort with the terms” handed down by the team.

While there is no clarity regarding whether Irving has met any of the conditions from the team, the point guard met with NBA commissioner Adam Silver earlier this week to discuss the matter.”

Since Kyrie is still a VP in the NBAPA, Jalen Brown’s is another confirmation that there exists a double standard

“‘We’ve got to be consistent’: The Rev. Al Sharpton says it’s OK to criticize Kyrie Irving

The Rev. Al Sharpton, who was accused of antisemitism in the 1990s, said it’s important to hold Nets star Kyrie Irving and others accountable.
Civil rights activist the Rev. Al Sharpton said Wednesday that it is OK for activists to criticize Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving for actions that have been perceived as antisemitic.

"I think that we need to really be careful that those of us that have fought racism in the Black community that we cannot in any way, even inadvertently, normalize being bigots against others," Sharpton told TMZ. “... We've got to be consistent, and if people say things wrong, they need to be held to the same account that we know when people say things wrong about us."

After using social media to share a link to a movie that contains antisemitic material last week, Irving was combative with reporters over the matter, refusing to apologize or state unequivocally that he has no antisemitic beliefs. It was only after he was suspended at least five games by the Nets for not taking responsibility for the actions that Irving finally did say he's sorry.

Speaking to Jewish leaders in 2019, Sharpton acknowledged that he could have “done more to heal rather than harm” during the Crown Heights riots.
Decades after those events, Sharpton was asked Wednesday about Irving's situation. The MSNBC host did not mention Irving specifically in his reply, but said it is important that people be allowed to hold each other accountable.

"We fight against bigotry of all forms," Sharpton said, "and bigotry cannot be normalized and victims cannot say that they're going to victimize others."
Sharpton did say he has not taken a position on when Irving should be allowed to return to the Nets. Irving will serve the fourth game of his suspension Wednesday when the Nets host the Knicks. Earlier in the day, the Nets promoted Jacque Vaughn to the head coaching position. Vaughn is 2-2 after taking over as acting coach for Steve Nash on Nov. 1.

NBAPA are about protecting themselves even if one of their own does something really stupid.
