(Australia's love affair with the mullet - BBC News)

Quote:
The mullet hairstyle rose in prominence in the '70s and '80s to become a symbol of Australian culture and identity.

Now it has seen a global resurgence - and Australia has been particularly enthusiastic about its return.

Fashion expert Ailsa Weaver said Australians love mullets because they consider themselves to be larrikins.

A larrikin nowadays is thought of as a cheeky rule breaker, but in the 1800s larrikins were urban, working class youth gangs who used fashion as a form of rebellion.

"The mullet really can be seen in Australia to be a descendant from the extreme, self-made hairstyles of the larrikins," said Ms Weaver.

Imagine being w/ the late 80s-early 90s Nets (aka Clipps East) and being outplayed by Duds and even Haley. At least those two were hackers and Duds could OR. They had to break up the BWS dynamic by trading w/ Logo for Benoit just so they could add a little more diversity to their awful bigs.

Sam Bowie was a good'n tho. Loved Sam. NOT!!1 a talent bust. His bones were made of chalk is all. Saw a clip the other day from 95 of Sam blocking a Kemp power donk at The Forum. Sam was a tru warier to even come back after the injuries he had. Sam had 4 leg breaks, one in college, 3 in the NBA. Jerome Kersey fell into his leg identical to Kobe/Bynum and broke it. Drew was actually much luckier than Sam in the extent of injuries from that. You got me on a Sam rant. It's a passionate subject for me. The lad was a ray of light after that Christie/Benjamin puke trade for Perk. Not that we didn't get d-k'd at the last sec by a ref in Gm 5 of the 93 Suns series as it already was, but w/ Perk, we prolly win that'n. That ain't to mention Earv re-retiring because of Malone that preseason. The Nine-Trizzay SUCKED! I don't care if the LBC was runnin the Nine-Trizzay.
