Disagree. Bryant is a quality offensive big, off the bench. I don't see any problem with him being productive in the post season, if the Lakers make it. That said, I've stated my hope that Rob is able to make a deal with the Magic for Mo Bamba, similar to the deal with the Wizards for Rui. Another young quality big, with upside, that can solidify the F/C position in case of another AD injury.

As for optimal lineups with the current players, barring any moves...:

PG- Schroder, Russ, Bev
SG- Reaves, Walker, Christie
SF- Rui, Troy, JTA
PF- LeBron, Wenyen
C- AD, Bryant

When AR and Lonnie come back, we probably go to a 10 man lineup.
One good thing about having these playable guards, is that they can go all out, especially on defense in shorter spurts. Even go with rotating 7 guys in the guard and sf positions.

Great options for Ham to play with.

Coach Ham here

Schroder/Russ/Bev (only 1!)
Reaves/Walker IV
Lebron/Brown Jr./Christie
Rui/AD/Toscano
AD/Bryant/Gabriel/Jones

Hopefully improving that Russ/Bev into a better shooter. Also, please no more Russ to close games!

Sexy

Best line up possible. I'd like to see Gabriel gettinf minutes some how. He is better than Brown on offense and is an even better 3pt shooter but can he defend SF? His length would be criminal at the back up 3.

At full health, after Bron and AD who are you sitting out of:

TB
Rui, Wenyen
Brown, Max
Lonnie, AR
Bev, Russ, Schro

Wenyen and Max are probably the most likely. That said, injuries will still happen and Bron/AD will get occasional "rest" days so I feel the two of them would still get time. Wenyen may came in handy especially in the playoffs at center when teams tend to downsize. Without trying to hijack the thread, our roster still screams imbalance.

Yeah Gabriel can play 3/4/5 imo depending on the situation, opponent, etc. I just placed him at the 5 because Jones has fallen out of the rotation so really Bryant and Gabriel are our 2 โ€˜5sโ€™ but yeah Gabriel is easy to slot anywhere 3-5 and obviously no issues with him at 4 or 5 really.

Huge Trade today! Kind of nervous though w Ham at the helm. but with that said, what does our lineup look like along with rotations? If it was up to me

PG: DLO
SG: Beasley
SF: Rui
PF: LeBron
C : AD

^ Starting 5 is solid and is probably our best 5. The team is arguably the best in the league if playing to their potential.

The bench rotation is a bit hairy though. not sure what it looks like with vanderbilt as im not familiar w his game but he seems like a capable scorer and defender. W that said, and current roster, i think 2nd string should be

PG: Shroder
SG: Lonnie
SF: AR15
PF: Vanderbilt
C: TB

Out of rotation/situational players - pat bev, max christie, TBJ, wenyen

DLO
Beasley
Vandy
Lebron
AD

I'd be good w/ this lineup.
I know people like Rui, but we need a hustle wing next to AD and Lebron.
He and AD will help cover the defensive deficiencies of DLO and Beas.

Vanderbilt kills the spacing in that lineup. Still think Rui is the real deal and his value will shine as the games go on

bron

So much spacing for bron and AD
Iโ€™d bring in TB and Vanderbilt off the bench together.

DLo and Beasley are good shooters
Rui is average to decent

Can't believe we landed 3 starters, rid ourselves of WB and got the top 4 protection on the pick.

I like Rui as a bench scorer, maybe stagger LBJ minutes with shooters and AD and DLO together more. Vandy needs to start to help compensate for the rough backcourt defense.

I really like the new additions to the team:

DLo instead of WB
Beasley instead of Nunn
Vanderbilt instead of JTA
Hachi instead of DJones

Scared that Hamโ€™s starting backcourt is still hereโ€ฆhe might be tempted to stick with themโ€ฆSchroeder at PG, Bev at SG. Also I still have fears that he will play any three or four of these guards at a timeโ€ฆDLo/DS/Bev, Beasley/Walker/Reaves to stick with his failed dominant guard line-ups.

However, Rob pleasantly shocked me so Iโ€™m optimistic that Ham will too and use three of these at all times: Vandy, Hachi, TBjr, Gabriel with AD/LBJ/Bryant

No more 3 guards!!!

Okay so let's break down how the lineups can look like. I get a sinking feeling Ham is going to start Schroeder with Russell... but let's just assume he isn't.. for once...

Starters:
D"Angelo Russell
Lonnie Walker IV
LeBron James
Jarred Vanderbilt
Anthony Davis

Bench:
Dennis Schroeder / Patrick Beverley
Austin Reaves / Malik Beasley
Rui Hachimura / Troy Brown Jr.
Wenyen Gabriel
Thomas Bryant

There's our 12 person rotation right there. Three point shooting from the 1 and the 2 in the starting lineup, defense from the 4 and the 5.

10-man needs to look like this tomorrow:

Russell - Beverley OR Schroder
Reaves - Beasley
Bron - newly traded in wing
Rui - Vanderbilt
AD - Bryant

Assuming no trade, though - I guess it might look like this?

Russell - Schroder
Beverley - Beasley
Bron - Reaves
Rui - Vanderbilt
AD - Bryant

With maybe Walker, TBJ, Gabriel left behind

Dlo/shroder
Reaves/Beasley
Lebron/walker/brown
Hachimura/Vanderbilt
AD/bamba/wenyen

I think bamba plays in certain matchups when we get to the playoffs but picks up a lot of DNP coaches decisions. Wenyen/Vanderbilt will play most series Imo. Walker isnโ€™t really a 3 but I think Heโ€™s too talented not to play, so unless heโ€™s getting flat out cooked and we need size/defense he will get the nod for backup minutes at 3.

Time get out of denial and personal preferences (looking at me too) and start the best available line up. Dlo is the best guard on the team, Beasley is a top 5 3pt shooter in the league, they should start with AD and Lebron...Not sure if Vandi or Rui is best with the starters but given the lack of defense in the backcourt perhaps Vandi would be the better option.

Schro/Walker/Reaves/Max/TBjr/Gabriel are not NBA caliber starters. Vandi/Rui/Mo are questionable and may not be either but we hope at least one of them emerges as such.
