Mavs blew a 32 point lead against us (28 or 29 in the 4th Q) during the 3-Peat.
Kobe outscored them, 62-61, through 3 quarters in '05-'06.
No wonder Cuban hates the Lakers. |
Yep. December 6th 2002. Kobe had a horrible first 3 quarters and we were down 27 IIRC at the start of the 4th. Then Kobe being Kobe happened. Of course the go ahead bucket to win the game was by the Mamba.
My gawd, I can't wrap my head around the fact that it was over 20 years ago. I feel sad. |
Yeah I remember that game vividly. I remember the look on Mark Cuban's (Commodus') face. Time sure does fly! I also remember the time Kobe outscored the Mavericks through 3 quarters by himself. He could have had 90 points that game. |

Print this out and frame it for the memorial. That picture of Cuban looking up like Emperor Palpatine at the scoreboard after AD's shot was perfect |

I love these threads with premature celebrations, then devastation.
One of the best was Bill Simmons' Liveblog of Game 7 of the 2010 Finals with Boston and LA. He was giggling like a giddy schoolgirl for three quarters, then he had a total pouting meltdown as the Lakers came back to win.
I tried to find it online, but he may have deleted it in shame. LOL. |
