DIY night. A must win to get the tiebreaker against the Pelicans. Lakers drilled 15 threes in the first half, a franchise record. They had a 35 point lead at the half, biggest in 70 years. Just straight up on fire and a strong defensive effort in that first half. |

It was great to see Beasley finally get hot. We need a lot more of that from him.
Also kudos to AD for getting back to his usual dominant self. |

Beas seems very much a streak shooter...when on, dude is on fire. When off, an LG poster is better to suit up n play _________________ "One thing I admire about Kuzma is his unwavering confidence. He truly has no idea that he’s not as good as he thinks." - Killer_Z |

A few random thoughts;
AD, DLO, Reaves 2 way play and Vanderbilt's defense are constants.
Glad to see Beasley finally get hot. Talk about a streak shooter.
Great game by AD, too bad he's gotta rest on b2b's. Rui Hachimura is the only big we have against the Rockets. No I don't count a 205 pound Gabriel as a big. Lakers can still beat Houston but man we could use LBJ and Mo when AD has to sit.
Today the Lakers turned way too complacent after charging out of the gates to a 35 point lead. At least they turned it back on when the Pels got within 15. Mixed feelings on that but it is a win.
All in all this was a crucial win if the Lakers want to keep thinking playoffs. Pretty convincing win in spite of the second half coasting. Getting to .500 would be a very nice next step. |

I bet you could smell Vando's cologne on BI after the game. He had Tiny Dawg in hell.
That being said, Vando's POA defense on elite wings with AD backing him up is awesome to see. When they face the Suns, I'm not too worried about KD going nuclear. Vando's defense is that good.
He needs to make 1,000 3ptrs a day this summer though. |

“With the Lakers up 75-40 at the half Tuesday, Ham said he considered resting Davis to try to save him for Wednesday, but he ended up needing to play Davis 17 minutes in the second half as New Orleans cut the cushion all the way down to 13 in the fourth quarter.”
This roster’s next lesson to be an elite team
Legitimate championship-contending teams, like the Shaq/Kobe, Magic/Cap/Big Game James and Kobe/Pau teams), to completely demolish teams so that superstars such as AD/LBJ can rest entire fourth quarters.
Understand that in today’s NBA, 20+ point leads are nothing - but we had a 35-40 point leads and has a chance to make an opposing team fear this Laker squad.
Result: we will discover how this team will play without AD the entire game |
