The return feels very light here, particularly since the Rams aren't even saving that much on the cap. This is a team that offered two 1st Round picks and a 2nd for Brian Burns last November. Now they are giving up Ramsey for nothing but a 3rd Round pick and a TE with one career catch? |

Quote: | The key for the Rams here was getting Jalen Ramseyâs salary off the books. His performance last season didnât help his market, and few teams were likely willing to guarantee him the money that Miami did. |
Quote: | By taking the dead money for Ramsey and Leonard Floyd on this yearâs salary cap, the Rams are on target for a clean 2024. |

Wonder what the Rams plans are? Are they going full rebuild or just partial rebuild around their stars. |

This is what Sean McVay came back for? I get it with Aaron Donald...look at the money the Rams gave him. But McVay? |

Rams HC Sean McVay says he's committed to coaching for 'years to come'
Quote: | For a week in January, Rams head coach Sean McVay debated his future as a head coach following a disappointing 5-12 season.
But having used that time to reflect, McVay said Friday that he was grateful for the new perspective this gave him, allowing him to recommit to coaching for the long term. |

It would surprise me if they decide to part with the core of Donald, Kupp or Stafford. That would really mean they are going for a full rebuild. I don't think they are going that drastic of a route. |

Rams cleared $61.2 million in cap space for 2024 with Ramsey, Floyd and Wagner moves
Quote: | As their roster is currently constructed, the Los Angeles Rams donât look like a team ready to contend in 2023. They worsened their chances of competing this year when they released Bobby Wagner and Leonard Floyd, and then traded Jalen Ramsey to the Dolphins.
The Rams chose not to make Wagner or Floyd post-June 1 cuts, either. Doing so wouldâve saved Los Angeles cap space in 2023 â an extra $3 million for Wagner and an additional $12.5 million for Floyd.
Looking at the moves the Rams have made so far, itâs obvious that they have one eye already on the 2024 campaign. Those three transactions all suggest that.
And you canât deny that itâs working. By trading Ramsey and cutting Wagner and Floyd, the Rams have already cleared $61.2 million in cap space for 2024. Over The Cap now projects them to have $58.5 million in cap room next year, 22nd in the NFL.
Hereâs how it breaks down by player, with eachâs cap savings in 2024 now that theyâre off the roster. |

The Rams traded Allen Robinson to the Steelers.
Quote: | Trade terms agreement:
đSteelers get WR Allen Robinson and a 7th-round pick (No. 251).
đRams receive 7th-round pick (No. 234).
Rams pay $10.25 million of Robinsonâs salary; Steelers pay remaining $5 million. Robinson is scheduled to be in Pittsburgh for a physical Wednesday. |

This is probably going to be a painful season. The best case scenario is to duplicate what Seattle did last year. Nobody gave them a chance to make the playoffs with the loss of Russell Wilson, etc.
The pain should last only one season because they will have a lot of cap space for 2024. I trust Rams management. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

I hope they at least asked for the courtesy of a reach around. Jeez! _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

So they moved down 17 spaces for Allen Robinson.
Trades are so much different in the NFL than the NBA.
It's literally just a fire sale for the Rams right now.
I've been a fan thru some tough years... So I'm seasoned, but this is looking grim.
I'm thinking maybe last year, McVay saw that he could get some solid production from no name bench guys. So maybe he will rely on his staff to coach up the rookies and unsigned players they will inevitably have to pick up.
Just waiting for them to announce open practice and maybe some of us can try out for the team. Lol. _________________ "Dread it, run from it... destiny arrives all the same." |

There is some chatter the Rams may try to move up in the draft into the twenties. We will see if they can pull it off. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |
