Ham is basically playing time him off the roster for next year??? |
I doubt Ham is giving any thought to next year right now.
Rui is getting a reasonable amount of minutes. If he can't be productive with less than 35-40 minutes or whatever, he won't have a very good NBA career.
Right now, he just looks like a solid-enough rotation player. |

I've been in Tokyo for a bit, it's funny that if I mention I'm a Lakers fan everyone says "Ohhh, the team with Hachimura?" And then "...and the King" as an afterthought. |

That's what I would expect. He's only the second Japanese player to ever be in the nba. I would think that many Japanese people who don't know anything about basketball or care about basketball know who he is. |

Loving the new form and arc on his 3. Doesn’t look like it’s going to fall short every time like it used to. _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit) |

Yeah definitely, it's really interesting as a comparison to China which is wild about the NBA. I was under the impression they'd know the Lakers as the team with LeBron (and Kobe before) the same way I know Messi played for Barcelona and Ronaldo played for Madrid despite not actually caring about club football. But I guess not haha. |

Another night played well and positive but kept under 20 minutes.
Not sure what is going on, but look like Ham has him on a very short leash right now. |

I tend to agree here. Though I think they are also happy with Vanderbilt's hustle, and that is part of what is limiting him. But where Rui had a disappointing start to his time with the Lakers, he's been earning his keep lately. |

Not sure Vando is the reason. But I think Gabriel has taken some of his minutes and Ham just can’t help himself going with Schro/DLo/Reaves 3 guard line-up. |

It's that last piece. Ham and those 3 guard lineups reduces mins for eveyrone else. If Rui just lost a few inches in height, he'd be getting more mins. You know, super logical coaching. |

I think Rui is more effective at SF and more of his natural position.
DLo or Schro
Reaves
Rui
Vando or Gabriel
AD
That closing line up would be better. We saw the struggle with the DLo/Schro line up last couple losses. Ham still insist to play them both even if one of them is having a bad shooting night. DLo was closing both night he shot bad. Reason our offense struggled at the end. Because DLo was taking shots away from Schro and Reaves. Tonight the role was reversed with Schro not shooting well. Ham has to sit one of those guys and just go with who’s having a better night. |

Rui is a bucket.
Also has the best smile in the league /no homo. It’s the cat that ate the canary, each time they call a foul on him. |

He's been playing well lately, would like to see him get more minutes. I like his defense out there, and his shot making is sorely needed at times.
Doesn't seem to turn the ball over that much, either, which isn't something you can say about a lot of the Lakers |

I thought he was pretty key last night with the scoring in the 2nd half…when AD was just loafing or settling for the jump shot.
He held it down until Reaves takeover. _________________ 2 star model (Lebron/AD) in 2023-24 = no playoffs, again. |

Jaylin Williams from OKC has the best smile in the NBA _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though." |

Back to back low minutes for Rui... He has the size that we need out there. Something is going on. |

I think just matchups and Ham doing his thing. Inconsistency in minutes seems like regular thing for our players not named Lebron or AD. _________________ "If Kobe says f everybody, then f everybody"

Yea were winning right now. Seems like Ham is sticking to what works. Gabriel is giving us bigger production during his small shifts than Rui. Also Ham just really like the 3 guard line-up.
Been waiting for the AD/Vando/Rui/Reaves line up combo. |

His mins have been going down and down, which is odd because he had a stretch where he was playing quite well. |

I told u guys Rui is not certain to come back. He’s done nothing lately. 2 points against OKC not much against Phoenix. Now a DNP. If this guy doesn’t accept $8 million a year they’ll let him walk. He’s easily replaceable with our first round pick. |
